I see gym injuries in the clinic every week â and most of them werenât caused by âbad luck.â
They came from poor technique, rushing progress, or lifting more than the body was ready for.
Proper form isnât about being perfect â itâs about protecting your joints, muscles, and long-term health.
Train with intention now so you donât end up rehabbing later.
Lift smart. Move well. Stay injury-free. đȘ
Scientific research shows that tight hamstrings are often found in people with lower back pain and can alter how your pelvis and lumbar spine move â leading to more stress on the lower back.
đ Studies show that improving hamstring flexibility can reduce pain intensity, improve function, and enhance range of motion in people with low back pain.
đ This is why releasing the hamstrings is not just feel-good â itâs research-supported in managing back discomfort.

Recovery is just as important as training â yet itâs the part most people ignore.
In clinic, I see it every day: people pushing harder, adding more sessions, but never giving their body time to adapt.
Muscles donât grow, joints donât settle, and pain doesnât reduce during training â it happens during recovery.
That means quality sleep, proper load management, mobility work, soft tissue care, and actually listening to the signals your body gives you.
If youâre constantly tight, sore, or picking up the same injuries, itâs rarely because youâre not doing enough.
Most of the time, youâre doing too much without recovering properly.
Train with intent.
Recover with purpose.
Thatâs how long-term performance and pain-free movement are built.
That strong twitch in the upper quad isnât random.
Itâs a reflex response from the nervous system when a tight, overloaded muscle finally switches off its protective guarding.
Years of training, impact, or poor load management can leave this area constantly âon.â
Acupuncture helps interrupt that signal, allowing the muscle to relax, restore normal tone, and move better again.
Less tension. Better movement. Faster recovery.
Your lower back wonât truly relax if this muscle stays tight.
The QL (quadratus lumborum) works overtime with sitting, lifting, and poor movement patterns.
Releasing it can reduce stiffness, one-sided back pain, and that âlockedâ feeling.
Save this and try it đ

Recovery doesnât only happen in the gym đ
Sleep is where the real gains are made â muscle repair, pain reduction, and better performance.
If youâre training hard but sleeping poorly, youâre holding yourself back.
Prioritise rest like you prioritise training đ€đȘ

Recovery doesnât mean doing nothing.
Staying gently active helps prevent muscle loss, keeps joints moving, and supports a smoother return to full strength.
The key is doing the right exercises at the right time â not pushing through pain.
If youâre unsure whatâs safe during your recovery, reach out and get guidance tailored to you.
