Can skin be tightened without surgery? Part 2.
Here, Mr Ahmad explains energy-based skin tightening, detailing how radiofrequency heats the tissues beneath the surface.
Heating the tissue to a controlled temperature triggers inflammation, collagen remodelling, and gradual tightening over time. This process is not immediate and can continue over three, six, or even nine months.
At Cambridge Clear Beauty, treatments such as FaceTite, NeckTite, AccuTite, BodyTite, and Morpheus8 are selected based on the treatment area and desired level of correction.
Mr Ahmad also explains an important difference between surgery and energy-based treatments.
In surgery, deeper structures are repositioned and excess tissue may be removed. Energy-based skin tightening, however, aims to stimulate tissue using heat and collagen remodelling, without the same surgical approach.
These treatments are not always straightforward, and local anaesthetic is usually required to ensure patient comfort.
They also do not replace surgery in every case.
Suitability depends on the patient, the skin, the degree of laxity, and what can realistically be achieved without an incision.
This underscores the importance of a consultation. Mr Ahmad will discuss the pros and cons, explain the capabilities of each treatment, and advise on the most appropriate option for the individual patient.

A mini facelift is often best understood by focusing on the lower face.
Not as a change to a single feature, but as an adjustment to how the soft tissues sit, how the jawline appears, and how the face maintains its structure over time.
In this before and after image, the difference is seen around the lower face, where tissue laxity can begin to create heaviness and reduce definition along the jawline.
The purpose of surgery in cases like this is not to create an obvious change. It is to restore support beneath the surface, adjust the skin where appropriate, and allow the lower face to sit in better balance with the rest of the face.
A mini facelift is not suitable for everyone. The planning depends on the patient's anatomy, skin quality, degree of laxity, and whether the level of correction needed can be achieved with a more limited procedure.
The result should not rely on the idea of looking ""done"". It should be seen in the way the face appears more settled, supported, and proportionate.
Images shared with patient consent for educational purposes. Individual results vary. All surgery carries risks and requires consultation with an appropriately qualified medical professional.

A small detail within the clinic.
If you've visited Cambridge Clear Beauty, you may have noticed this sculpture by the window.
It was created by Mr Ahmad.
Alongside his work as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, he also has a strong artistic side, and this piece serves as a reminder that his understanding of the face extends beyond the operating theatre.
There is something personal about seeing a surgeon's own artwork in the space.
It offers a glimpse into how he views faces: not as a set of separate features, but rather as expression, character, structure, and detail, all working together.
It is also one of the clinic's details that makes the space feel more human.
Not just treatment rooms.
Not just consultations.
But a place shaped by the person behind the work.

Can skin be tightened without surgery?
In part one of this series, Mr Ahmad explains how certain non-surgical treatments use controlled micro-injury, energy, or a combination of both to improve skin quality over time.
Microneedling works by creating tiny injuries in the skin. These are not intended to scar, but to trigger inflammation and encourage collagen production, which plays an important role in skin structure and texture.
At Cambridge Clear Beauty, SkinPen may be used for concerns such as acne scarring and general skin texture.
Morpheus8 goes a step further by combining microneedling with radiofrequency energy. This adds heat beneath the skin, which can support collagen remodelling when delivered at the appropriate depth and temperature.
These treatments are not a replacement for surgery, but they may be useful where the concern is skin quality, texture, or mild laxity.
Treatment suitability depends on the individual, and results usually develop gradually over a course of sessions.
Stay tuned for part 2, where Mr Ahmad explains what these treatments can and cannot achieve.

Skin changes are often most noticeable in the small details.
In this before-and-after image, observe the improved texture and overall appearance of the skin around the lower face and cheek area following CACI treatment.
CACI is a non-surgical treatment that uses microcurrent technology to stimulate facial muscles and enhance the skin's appearance over time. It is a popular choice for patients seeking a treatment-led approach without surgery or injectables.
The aim is not to alter the face, but to work with the skin and underlying facial structure in a gradual manner.
As with any skin treatment, individual results vary depending on skin condition, treatment plan, and consistency of sessions.

Thank you to our patient for leaving this review after blepharoplasty with Mr Ahmad.
We greatly appreciate patients taking the time to share their experience, particularly after a procedure they may have considered for some time.
Such reviews also help prospective patients understand the entire process – from initial consultation, through surgery, and into recovery.
A sincere thank you from everyone at Cambridge Clear Beauty.

Fat grafting sounds simple, but the technique is far more precise than simply relocating fat from one area to another.
In this reel, Mr Ahmad explains how fat grafting works and why the way the fat is placed matters.
Fat is harvested from one part of the body and transferred to another where volume or support is needed. It is used in breast surgery, for facial rejuvenation, and sometimes for areas such as the backs of the hands.
Because the fat is your own tissue, the body cannot reject it in the same way it might reject a foreign material. However, this does not guarantee every transferred fat cell will survive.
For successful fat grafting, the fat must be placed in very small amounts, almost like fine threads, within healthy tissue. This allows oxygen and nutrients from the surrounding tissue to keep the fat alive while new blood vessels grow into it.
This is why fat grafting takes care, experience, and realistic planning.
Sometimes, more than one session may be needed, depending on the area being treated and the amount of volume required.
Mr Ahmad will discuss suitability, limitations, and what can realistically be achieved during consultation.

What does Morpheus8 treatment target?
Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, working beneath the surface of the skin to support collagen remodelling over time.
The aim is not to alter the facial structure as surgery can, but rather to work with the skin itself, especially where texture, laxity, and firmness have become more noticeable.
In these before and after images, the change can be seen across the lower face and neck area. The skin appears more settled, and the transition from the jawline into the neck looks more even.
This is why assessment matters. Morpheus8 may be suitable for some patients, but it is not a replacement for surgery where more advanced laxity is present.
Suitability depends on skin quality, concerns, treatment goals, and the level of correction being considered.
Results vary between individuals and usually develop gradually over a series of weeks to months.

At Cambridge Clear Beauty, surgical care is led by Mr Ahmad, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon whose approach is quiet, considered, and precise.
Every consultation begins with a thorough understanding of the individual patient, encompassing their unique anatomy, concerns, expectations, and what is most appropriate for their facial structure.
For Mr Ahmad, good surgical planning is not about applying the same approach to every patient. Instead, it is about looking carefully, listening properly, and making decisions with both experience and restraint.
That level of attention continues from consultation through to theatre and aftercare.
Calm judgement.
Careful planning.
A clear understanding of facial structure.
These are the foundations of the work at Cambridge Clear Beauty.

Often, some of the most insightful moments at professional meetings occur between sessions.
This was certainly true at BAM 2026, a conference Mr Ahmad helped organise, bringing together surgeons and colleagues for education, discussion, and shared experience.
During the event, Mr Ahmad had the opportunity to speak with Louise Vennegaard Mielke, reflecting on her distinguished career, extensive international experience, and the profound depth of knowledge she has
accumulated. The conversation revealed a deep appreciation for her contributions to aesthetic surgery, particularly her work, teaching, and the unique perspective she offers.
