My client captured this as we alleviated symptoms of severe bloating and discomfort. She immediately noticed reduced bloating and redefinition of her abdomen area, and commented how loose her jeans felt after getting dressed.
It's very common during a treatment for things to get a little noisy!
Gurgling or bubbling noises during a lymphatic drainage massage, especially on the abdomen, are completely normal and positive signs. These sounds, known as borborygmi, indicate that the massage is activating your digestive system (peristalsis) and encouraging the movement of stagnant fluid.
These sounds, along with the potential for needing to use the bathroom during or immediately after the session, are considered normal signs of an effective lymphatic treatment. There is never any need to feel embarrassed, these are the signs your body is positively responding to treatment and going into 'rest and digest'.
Perimenopause and stress can really affect the lymphatic system and it is my pleasure to reduce discomfort and help people feel relaxed in their bodies again 🩷
