A little life update 🤍

Some of you already know, but I wanted to finally share that my family and I are moving to Norway 🇳🇴

After lots of planning, changing dates and trying to navigate a pretty huge international move, everything is finally confirmed and my last working day at Hoole Health Hub will be 16th August.

It feels incredibly strange writing this. I have absolutely loved building Define PMU + Skin and I’m so proud of what I’ve created. More than anything, I’ve loved getting to know so many wonderful clients and being trusted with something as personal as your brows and treatments.

To everyone who has booked with me, recommended me, returned for treatments or simply supported my little business, thank you. It has genuinely meant so much to me. ❤️

I’m currently working through lots of messages and trying my best to accommodate existing appointments and top-ups before I leave, but unfortunately I won’t be able to fit everyone in. Please bear with me while I work through everything.

This hopefully isn’t goodbye forever either. I’m hoping to return to the UK periodically and hold clinics in Chester, so once I know what that looks like I’ll share details here.

For now though, it’s time for a new adventure. 🇳🇴❤️

Not every brow journey follows the perfect plan…

Ideally, I would have liked the old microblading, carried out elsewhere, to be lightened further before creating these nano brows. But my client had already undergone one laser session and understandably didn’t want to continue with more removal.

So, we worked with what remained.

There were still both warm and cool tones sitting beneath the skin, which meant these were never going to look exactly like nano brows created on completely untouched skin. My job was to carefully rebalance the shape, disguise as much of the old work as possible and introduce fine hairstrokes without simply adding another heavy layer of pigment.

And just look at her smile 🥰

They’re fresh here, so the colour and surrounding redness will soften as they heal. Corrective work often involves compromise, but it can still create such a lovely change when it’s approached honestly and carefully.

The goal isn’t for people to notice the brows.
The goal is for people to notice how refreshed and lifted the whole face looks.

Most people think all hairstroke brows are microblading.

They aren’t.

These brows were created using machine nano hairstrokes, where each individual stroke is implanted using a digital PMU machine to mimic the appearance of natural brow hair.

The goal isn’t to create a heavy makeup effect.

It’s to create realistic structure, fullness and definition while blending seamlessly with the client’s existing brows.

Natural-looking brows are often the most technically demanding because every stroke matters.

A soft nano approach was used to rebuild the brow and restore shape in a way that sits naturally within the skin.

For more delicate, mature skin, nano is often a better option than microblading, allowing for finer, softer strokes and a more natural healed result.

One of the most common things I hear is
“I just go every year for a top up…”

But it’s not always that simple.

PMU sits within the skin, not on top like makeup.
It creates a soft base and acts as a guide, not a replacement.

The skin can only hold so much pigment.
Brows may look great after the first one or two top ups…
but after that, it starts to build.

This is when colour can shift
tones can appear cooler or slightly grey
and results can begin to look heavier or flatter over time

The right technique, pigment and timing all matter not just adding more.

Lip neutralisation journey ✨

When lips have a higher level of natural melanin, the first step is often neutralisation to balance the tone before adding the final colour.

Working in stages allows the pigment to heal more evenly and the final colour to look softer and more natural.

Every set of lips is different, so correction and colour are sometimes built gradually over multiple sessions.

Not every client needs permanent makeup, Every client deserves honest advice. In this case, the most natural option was a hybrid brow stain rather than permanent makeup.
