We were proud to celebrate our Green Flag Award with the working party volunteers. They received the flag on behalf of all the wonderful people who helped us achieve the standard set by this international benchmark. Well done and a huge pat on the back to all!
And despite the heat, they were out this morning with the Keepers, clearing the pavement along Bromley Road to ensure that pedestrians can walk along it safely.

We are thrilled to be able to tell you that Chislehurst and St Paul’s Cray Commons will be receiving a new Green Flag Award at a ceremony in London on Thursday! ⭐️💚🎉

We are among a record-breaking 2,391 parks and green spaces across the UK to have achieved the prestigious Green Flag Award. Managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy and backed by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, this international benchmark highlights beautifully maintained community spaces. 💚🌳

Our entry to the Green Flag Award is sponsored by idverde/Bromley Council. This award goes to our staff and all the volunteers who work so hard in so many different ways to make Chislehurst Commons such a valuable amenity for the community!

Join our Board as a Trustee with responsibility for managing our finances 💳🪙💷.
After 11 years’ sterling service, our Treasurer is retiring in September, and so we are looking for someone with financial awareness, Excel experience, and who can dedicate on average 2 to 4 hours a week to the role.
Accounting experience would be useful but common sense is most important. The role involves making payments, managing our bank accounts, collecting in funds and providing monthly financial information to Trustees.
As we are a volunteer organisation, the role is unpaid but your reward will be a key involvement in the management and protection of the 180 acres of Chislehurst and St. Paul’sCray Commons. 💚

A cascade of stars! These are the flowers of the sweet chestnut tree, an important source of nectar for bees and other insects, and of roasted chestnuts at Christmas time!

The recent rain, and warmth has certainly made work for our volunteers! Today’s task was clearing back foliage that was encroaching on the pavement along St. Paul’s Cray Road. As this is a busy road , real team work was needed to ensure that the job was done efficiently and safely - cutting, raking the cuttings into piles, disposing of them in the woodlands where they will rot down, digging out earth and debris from the edges of the pavement, and sweeping up any remaining leaves and soil. Well done, all - another great day’s work!

Geese graze peacefully on Centre Common. Last week it was buzzing with visitors to the Motor Show. This Saturday it is the site of the Rotary Summer Fair. We’ll be there with a display and photos and cards to sell. Please come and see us - we have so much to show you!
