Behind the barns, with Pippa Paton Design

There’s a great deal of history within the walls of Bibury Farm Barns, and preserving that character was always at the heart of their transformation.

When it came to designing the interiors at Bibury Farm Barns, we were fortunate to have the wonderful Pippa Paton Design team on board. With her wealth of experience working on Cotswold properties, and barn conversions in particular, Pippa Paton and her team brought a wonderful understanding of how to give these old agricultural buildings a new lease of life without losing sight of where they came from.

Our five barns were thoughtfully styled by Pippa Paton Design, bringing together original Cotswold stone, ancient oak beams and contemporary interiors. Each barn has its own personality, but all share the same sense of warmth, comfort and understated charm.

From generously comfortable sofas and beautifully considered bedrooms to the smallest details, Pippa’s approach has helped create spaces that feel every bit as welcoming for our guests as they are thoughtfully designed.

A few things to make arriving at the barns that little bit easier.

A welcome hamper waiting for you, a fully equipped, high-spec kitchen ready for everything from morning coffee to big family suppers, and the option to have the fridge stocked ahead of your arrival.

So once the bags are down and the kettle is on, there’s very little left to think about.

No alarm. No rush. No particular reason to get out of bed just yet.

Newspapers scattered across the sheets, the radio on in the background and that first cup of tea within reach. The bedrooms at Bibury Farm Barns are made for mornings without much of an agenda.

After all, one of the best things about escaping to the Cotswolds is having nowhere you particularly need to be.

At the heart of the barn and drenched in natural light, the kitchen is so much more than a place to cook. It’s where the day begins over coffee, where drinks are poured as dinner comes together, and where conversations linger long after the plates are cleared.

There’s something about a generous kitchen that naturally brings everyone together. At Bibury Farm Barns, it quickly becomes one of those places where everyone gathers without really meaning to.

Best enjoyed after a long walk, a day exploring the Cotswolds, or simply because you’ve got nowhere else you need to be.

Pour a drink, grab a robe and settle in.

With views stretching out across the farm, it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon, and an even better way to end your day.

A November escape to the Cotswolds. 🍂

Crisp walks, pub lunches, muddy boots by the door and evenings tucked up back at the barn. There’s something rather lovely about the Cotswolds once autumn is properly underway.

We have some November availability at Cart Shed, with a little something extra for those looking to escape to the country before the festive season begins.

A little bathroom appreciation.

Across the barns, no two are quite the same. From warm copper basins and tiny mosaic tiles to soft pinks, exposed Cotswold stone and plenty of room for two at the sink.

Thoughtful details, a little character and everything you need to get ready for the day (or wash off the evidence of a particularly muddy Cotswold walk).

The kind of place you and your little ones can settle into almost immediately.

Bull Pen is all on one level, with a big open-plan kitchen, living and dining space at its heart, a private gated courtyard and plenty of room for everyone to spread out.

There are cots, highchairs and other baby essentials available too, which makes staying with smaller guests that little bit easier.

Comfortable, light-filled and wonderfully relaxed, Bull Pen is made for proper time together in the beautiful English countryside.

There are few things better than a long bath after a day out walking the Cotswold paths.
