Life has really been lifing lately and I was absolutely desperate for a proper full body massage and Indian head massage. I hadn't been to see Lauri for far too long, so I thought sod it, booked myself in and drove over from Coventry to Nuneaton to see her.
And honestly, Lauri is seriously slept on!

As massage therapists, we're quite finicky about who we let work on us because we know exactly what we're feeling for 😂 and I can genuinely say Lauri is right up there for me.

My number one✨

She has the most amazing healing hands. She knows exactly where my knots are, where my body needs more attention and exactly how to get me out of that constant fight or flight mode.

I can completely switch off, stop being the therapist and just let somebody else take care of me for a change.
I had a full body massage followed by an Indian head massage and it was so overdue and so bloody needed. ❤️

She's also a genuinely lovely person and a great friend, but friendship aside, I wouldn't recommend somebody professionally unless I truly rated their work. And I absolutely do.

Crystal Moon might be my business, but if I’m being truthful, it’s also my safe space. 🌙✨

It’s where I come when I need some quiet, when my head is full, when I need to collect my thoughts or when I simply need to just be me for a while.

I’ve created this little one to one healing and hair sanctuary in Coventry for my clients, but somewhere along the way I realised I’d created it for myself too.

There’s something about the energy in this room that changes how you feel when you walk through the door.

My clients say it all the time. They feel calmer here. They can breathe. They can talk if they want to, be quiet if they want to, and just switch off from everything outside for a little while.

Whether someone comes to me for massage, Reiki, holistic therapy, loc care or natural Afro hair care, I want them to feel that same sense of being able to just be themselves without judgement or expectation.

It’s actually quite hard to explain because you have to feel Crystal Moon to really understand what I mean.

Sometimes I come here when I’m not working at all. I put the candles on, play my music, sit quietly and just gather myself.

This is one of the few places where I feel I can fully be myself, for myself. 🤎

Crystal Moon is my business, yes, but it’s also my sanctuary. 🌙

Spiritually aligned... I'm getting there. ✨
If you've followed me for a while, you'll know my brain loves a new idea 😂 But this isn't another random avenue.

This is something that's been on my heart for a long time. It feels like something that's genuinely needed here in Coventry and the surrounding areas, and it's a natural extension of everything Crystal Moon already stands for.

I'm keeping it under wraps for now, but trust me when I say I'm excited.

Big things are coming to Crystal Moon Hair & Holistics, and I can't wait to take you all along for the journey.

I'm a loctician... and my own hair is crying out for some TLC! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Between caring for Mum, being a mum myself, running Crystal Moon and trying to steal every chance I get to spend time with my amazing little grandson, my own hair always ends up at the bottom of the list. Sound familiar? 😅

The funny thing is, I always make sure my clients come first. I absolutely adore every single one of you, and this Bank Holiday has proved that again! My phone has been non stop with last minute messages trying to squeeze in appointments. 😂

As much as I wish I could clone myself, I can't!

So, going forward, if you know you're going to need your locs maintained, your canerows refreshed or your natural hair cared for around Bank Holidays or school holidays, please get into the habit of booking your next appointment before you leave. It'll save the panic and make sure your space is waiting for you.

Anyone else wake up today and think, "I don't wanna adult today?" 🙋🏾‍♀️😂

The carers have already been and got Mum sorted this morning..so that's one thing less to worry about.

Then I opened the back door and Chino looked at the torrential rain, looked back at me, and basically said, "You can go out there if you want... I'm staying right here." 🐶😂

At that point I knew exactly what the universe was serving today.

Anyway... here I am. Coffee in hand, locs slightly doing their own thing and crying out for some help and tlc, getting on with it because bills don't pay themselves. 😂

Some days you're thriving. Some days you're surviving.

Today... we're surviving with a smile. 🤎
