This simple demonstration shows the science behind laser hair removal.
Laser energy is attracted to melanin (pigment) in the hair. Generally, darker hairs contain more melanin, making them easier for the laser to target.
But here’s something important…
This is exactly why we carry out a consultation before every laser treatment.
Hair colour, hair thickness, skin type and even the area being treated can all affect your results. While blonde, grey, white and some red hairs can be more challenging to treat, it doesn’t automatically mean you won’t see results.
Every person is different, which is why we assess each client individually and give honest, professional advice before starting treatment.

This client came to the clinic with a benign skin lesion known as seborrheic keratosis - a very common non-cancerous skin growth that can appear with age and sun exposure.
At MediSkinic, the lesion was treated using cryotherapy - a procedure that uses controlled freezing to safely remove unwanted skin changes.
