I've been so sure that France would be in the final, so seeing Spain knock them out was definitely not on my bingo card! How wrong was I?!

That means the Spain flag nail becomes our first finalist, while France's World Cup journey comes to an unexpected end.

Now all eyes are on tonight's semi-final and I am beyond excited for this one. One more match to decide who joins Spain in the final and keeps the dream alive... 👀🏆

The quarter-finals are over and we're officially through to the semi-finals of the Nail World Cup! 🏆🌍

We've gone from 32 hand-painted flag nails down to just 4 countries still in the running for the title, and the competition is getting intense.

There have been giant killings, penalty shootouts, and a few results I definitely didn't see coming, but that's exactly why knockout football is so much fun.

What started as a way to practise my hand-painting skills and feed my World Cup hyperfocus has turned into one of my favourite projects I've ever done. Watching the bracket slowly fill up while following the real tournament has been so satisfying.

Now we're down to the business end of the competition.

There have been penalties, surprises, late winners and a few heartbreaks along the way, but that's what makes knockout football so much fun to follow.

What started as a way to practise my hand-painting skills has turned into a project I've loved updating after every matchday. Seeing the bracket slowly fill up has been almost as exciting as the tournament itself!

Now every match really matters. One win takes a country to the semi-finals, one loss sends them home.

Was anyone else up at 1am, only to discover kick-off had been pushed back an hour? I was determined to watch it anyway! 😅
