Starting out as a new PMU artist can be scary.
Not knowing how and where to find clients can feel like an impossible task especially if you aren’t already in the beauty industry.
Here are my tips to get clients before you’ve qualified.
✨ Start talking about PMU to everyone you speak to. Find out if they would be interested in having it done.
✨ Share videos of you practicing.
✨ Talk about the benefits of PMU.
✨ Talk to people’s pain points. Maybe they have lost their brows due to illness or age. Maybe they were in the 90’s over plucking era. Do they struggle making them even? Do they struggle finding a brow pencil that compliments their skin tone?
✨ Get a website! Get it SEO optimised and get on Google. Google is still a very highly used searched engine. Not everyone is on social media 🤯
✨ Sort an advertising budget. If you can do your ads yourself budget £300 a month for meta ads. It may take a couple of months but it will get you clients quicker.
✨ Get as many friends and family on board to film even just drawing on their brows. Show case as many videos as possible of you working on your skill.
Becoming a successful PMU artist is possible. You just need to stay consistent, market yourself, and you will succeed!

Most beauty therapists look at PMU and see the time it takes to learn the skill. What they don’t look at is the time it can give them back once they’ve mastered it. 💕

Since training back in February Marie has practicing on latex to build her skill and muscle memory while waiting for her clinic to be ready to take clients.
The improvement in depth and shape creation has been amazing and I know she will absolutely fly when she starts on her models.
I give feedback to all practice via our student WhatsApp group along with videos on how to improve.
Because when you become a PMU artist you should never stop practicing, and my constructive feedback will only make you a better artist.

Not the glamorous answer.

✨ start with my contact list
✨ ask friends and family to model
✨ post in local Facebook groups
✨ build relationships with local businesses
✨ run ads
✨ get a website and google presence
✨ collect reviews from day 1
Most artists spend way too long on creating pretty graphics and logos and wondering what to post on IG.
What you really need is people in your chair.
