To the training providers who are full of enthusiasm while someone’s enquiring…

Replying to every message.

Telling them they’ll have all the support they need.

Making them feel like they’re in the best hands.

Then the course finishes and you disappear…

That’s the bit I’ll never understand.

Because if you’re promising support, be supportive.

If you’re promising mentoring, mentor.

And if someone’s invested their hard-earned money in you, don’t make them feel like they only mattered before they paid.

The course might finish.

The support shouldn’t.

One thing I teach my students is that lips don’t exist in isolation.

The lips are influenced by the surrounding anatomy, muscle activity, support structures, and the way the face functions as a whole.

That’s why we map, assess, and plan before treatment.

Because good results don’t come from blindly following a technique. They come from understanding what’s happening underneath.

One simple check that can help keep your clients safe after dermal filler…

Here I’m teaching my student how to assess capillary refill following treatment.

We’re looking for the colour to return quickly and evenly when pressure is released, helping us assess tissue perfusion in the treated area.

It’s a simple check, but an important part of post-treatment assessment and patient safety.

Have you been taught how to assess capillary refill properly?

“I’m worried about training because of the new laws. What do you think I should do?”

Honestly, this is one of the most common questions I’m being asked right now.

And I completely understand why.

There’s so much information being shared online at the moment, and unfortunately a lot of it is based on speculation rather than fact.

The facts are:

• There are currently no confirmed qualification changes.
• There has been no announcement saying CPD training is ending.
• There has been no announcement saying non-medics are being removed from the industry.

Yet every day I speak to people who are worried about getting started because of things they’ve seen online.

My advice?

Get into the industry.

Start gaining knowledge, experience and confidence.

Don’t let fear, rumours or speculation stop you from pursuing something you genuinely want to do.

The practitioners who are succeeding right now are the ones taking action, gaining experience and building their skills.
