For those not signed up to emails...
Baby no2 coming in November 🥰
Big thank you to everyone who has been so understanding with moving appointments recently. While I luckily have experienced no sickness this time I have unfortunately had bad dizziness which hasn’t been ideal!
Please be patient with any appointment juggles while I navigate hospital appointments!
Now the big question is maternity leave. As some of my long standing clients can probably remember with Élodie, I ended up incredibly swollen towards the end of my pregnancy so I will be approaching mat leave a little differently this time round.
I will be continuing with all massage appointments up until 30th September and then after this point I will only be accepting bookings for sit down treatments (Scar Therapy, Lymphatouch and Japanese Head Spa) until 14th October on advice from doctors and midwives.
For this 2 week period - both Japanese head spa and Scar Therapy will be 10% off with the code MATERNITY
At this moment in time I hoping to be back to work again part time at the end of April/Start of May but I will keep you posted.

INTRODUCING JAPANESE HEAD SPA
I am so excited to be bringing this new treatment in the New Year.
What is Japanese Head Spa?
Originating in Japan, a head spa treatment focuses on improving scalp health, promoting hair growth and providing a deeply relaxing experience.
Japan's Traditional Onsen culture has been around for centuries. Bathhouses have been integral to Japanese society for centuries and emphasise relaxation, purification and the therapeutic benefits of hot spring water and natural minerals. Historically, Japanese women are known for their beautiful, long hair which they maintained through vigorous hair care rituals.
Each head spa treatment will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed, with the added benefit of a healthier scalp.
Each treatment starts and ends with a scalp analysis. Where we assess your scalp health through a microscope (swipe for before and after Japanese head spa).
Treatments range from 70mins to 150mins long - pure luxury!
Now available to book online ✨️
Use code NEW20 when booking to receive 20% off ANY Japanese Head Spa treatment in January.
I can't wait to pamper you all 🤍

The importance of scar therapy and massage
Scar tissue is thick and fibrous, over time it shortens and can become 'stuck' to other structures.
The role of scar therapy allows us to positively change the way scar tissue lays itself down and make it more functional.
'Breaking down' scar tissue is a myth, but we can positively affect it's behaviour.

My own scar journey
*these photos include photos of infections*
As some of you know, I had an elective c-section to deliver my daughter back at the end of April. (ended up being a Category 2 as I had gone into labour before my elective date!)
Being a scar therapist, it must mean I've had the easiest journey with my scar? Oh, it couldn't be further from the truth! 😅
Firstly I recovered super well, to then see a minute hole open up in my scar about 3 weeks pp and immediately requesting some antibiotics to be on the safe side as I knew it meant something was going on underneath and although it didn't 'look' infected. I knew how quickly things could change.
Less than 24hrs after starting my antibiotics, I was rushed to hospital with sepsis and stayed the week for IV antibiotics and monitoring. I had an abscess in my scar layers and the scar on the site of my womb was infected. The first photo is while I was in hospital and the abscess was causing a large swelling and overhang. I went on to have another 2 infections in my scar before I FINALLY saw light at the end of the tunnel. Leaving me with a raised, red, hypertrophic scar. NOT what I had planned at all!
The first 3 months were simply gentle recovery, steroid and antibiotic cream and tablets. Once it was fully healed, I wore silicone sheeting for 23hrs a day for around 5 weeks to combat the hypertrophic aspect of my scar.
Twice daily application of NAQI Scar repair oil and Alhydran Scar moisturiser. And daily scar massage.
I now have no overhang or deep adhesions and slowly my scar is fading, with two little hypertrophic patches where the subsequent infections were. I have no numbness in my stomach or around my scar and full sensation everywhere and the most important thing - no pain!
Just a little reminder that scars will go through peaks and troughs of recovery. It will never be linear and sometimes you may take many steps backwards before coming forwards. Your scar will change for up to 2 YEARS post partum or post trauma. But it's never too late to start looking after it.
If you've got a scar and you're not sure how to help it, please dm me SCAR and we can talk about it 🤍
