Our Sunday evening yin/restorative yoga class includes elements of Yin yoga and restorative yoga to allow you to rest, relax and release tension in the body and mind. Yin Yoga is a restful and meditative practice that invites you to slow down, soften, and turn inward, with postures held for longer periods, allowing the body to gently release tension and work into the fascia (the deeper connective tissues) improving flexibility and supporting joint health. Restorative yoga generally uses bolsters and blankets to support the body in long held stretches which aim to create a feeling of deep rest. Combining Yin and restorative yoga, this quiet, floor-based practice is complemented by mindful breathing and stillness, helping to calm the nervous system and create a sense of balance in both body and mind. Unlike more dynamic styles of yoga, this class invites us to be still and cultivate patience. Holding postures for longer can bring sensations that challenge us to soften rather than resist. Through conscious breathing and relaxation, we learn to become comfortable with stillness, allowing both body and mind to gradually release and open. Our Yin/restorative yoga offers space to pause, unwind, and simply be - leaving you feeling grounded, relaxed, and restored. Suitable for all levels, including beginners.
