🌿 Going Back to Nature: Why What You Put ON Your Body Matters Just as Much as What You Put IN It ✨

​As a hairstylist, I’ve spent years analyzing hair under salon lights. But when living with chronic illness became my daily reality and i shifted my focus to healing, my entire perspective on things shifted. I started looking closely at everything—not just what I was putting into my body to manage my symptoms, but what I was putting on it.

​Our scalp is incredibly absorbent. If we're working hard to eat clean and reduce inflammation inside, we shouldn't overlook the chemical overload we might be applying to the outside! 🛑
​Lately, I've been stripping back the noise and going back to basics. Today, I brewed up a batch of completely natural, toxic-free hair rinse using ingredients straight from the earth:

​As you might know, tomorrow (Saturday, July 11th) is the Durham Miners’ Gala! The city is going to be absolutely buzzing, which means extensive road closures will be in place from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
​Don’t worry—we are fully open and looking forward to seeing everyone! To ensure your journey to us is as smooth and stress-free as possible, we have mapped out the best way to reach us.

​🚗 Driving & Parking (The "Secret" Route)
​While North Road is closed to general traffic from the front, you can still access the back of our street via the high side of the city. If you need to drive or be dropped off close to us, use this route to bypass the main cordons:
​The Route: Come past Durham School (Margery Lane), head straight across the St Margaret’s crossroads onto Alexandria Crescent, and turn right into Tenter Terrace (right by the blue railway bridge and St Godric's Church).
​Blue Badge Holders & Private Access: This route remains open for access to the private lanes behind the shops. If a traffic steward stops you near the bridge, simply let them know you are an appointment client accessing private parking behind North Road. (Tip: Keep your Blue Badge clearly on display!).
​Allow Extra Time: Because the main roads are shut, the Tenter Terrace/Castle Chare area will be a primary route for diverted buses. It will be busy, so please give yourself an extra 15–20 minutes to navigate the traffic.
​🚂 Alternative Ways to Get Here
​By Train: The Durham Train Station is just a short walk away and drops you right by the blue bridge access to our back lane.
​Park & Ride: If you don't mind a short walk into the centre, the official Park & Ride sites (Belmont, Sniperley, and Howlands) are operating frequent shuttles throughout the day.
