Yesterday, we received the very sad news of the passing of Robert ‘Bob’ Smith.

John worked with Bob for over 20 years in Calderwood Square and credits him with teaching him how to do a proper freehand flat top, like the one below. Bob was a fantastic barber, a mentor, and a bit of a local legend.

They shared lots of laughs and banter over the years, as well as many “you had to be there to believe it” moments – like the time a dog ran out of the shop and into the square with one of the waiting area chairs flying through the air behind it!

John will be forever grateful for the opportunity Bob gave him. He wouldn’t be where he is today without him.

Bob’s funeral will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, 20th July, at Hurlet Crematorium.

Rest in peace, Bob. You will be greatly missed.

We are delighted that the roadworks around the Greenhills Road & Redwood Drive area will come to an end this Sunday in line with the opening of the new Hairmyres station. It’s been a really challenging time for all of the businesses in & around the retail park. We are extremely grateful to our loyal clients for their support, continuing to make the journey to see us when the roads were an absolute nightmare!
They’ve been testing the line today & trains have been going up & down. The new car park looks brilliant! Looking forward to the buzz this upgrade will bring 🐝☀️
