Sorry for the quiet on here, it’s been a full-on start to the year behind the scenes.

In true impulsive fashion, I decided to renovate the entire salon myself. With help from a brilliant electrician and my very patient boyfriend (who tackled the exceptionally heavy mirrors), but everything else… plastering, sanding, panelling, painting… was a labour of love.

What I didn’t anticipate was everything else happening at the same time. Including being quite seriously unwell with a C. difficile infection throughout January and February, whilst February, usually our quietest month, ended up being almost as busy as Christmas.

There were many Sundays spent clearing what looked like a building site, ready for a full week of clients, only to start all over again the following weekend.

That said, we’re so proud of how it’s turned out.

The new layout gives our clients, and importantly our patients, greater privacy and allows us to make much better use of the space.

More than that, this renovation feels symbolic of a wider shift. A reset.

A clearing out, both physically and otherwise. Everything within the business now feels more considered, more aligned, and more intentional.

We’ve created a space that feels calm, private, and restorative, for both our clients and ourselves.

And that feels like exactly the right way to move forward. A reminder to be intentional about the environments we create, and the energy we allow within them.

We’re seeing a lot of Mounjaro / Ozempic related telogen effluvium recently.
Thankfully, we’re here to support the fallout—both clinically and aesthetically.

Already a classically trained colourist with experience across reputable Edinburgh salons, Katie joined Beyond Bond with a strong technical foundation — and has continued to build on it relentlessly.

Since joining us, she has completed certified training in fusion bonds with Great Lengths, weaves with Remi Cachet, and advanced micro-fusion and bespoke extension techniques directly with myself.

What sets Katie apart is precision, consistency, and work ethic. She shows up five days a week, Tuesday to Saturday, works meticulously, and takes genuine pride in her craft. In nearly 20 years specialising in hair extensions, it’s rare to find someone who instinctively meets the standard I demand — Katie does.

Standards always reveal themselves over time. Ours are uncompromising — and we build our team accordingly. Katie meets the mark.

We work exclusively with L’Oréal, never cutting corners or compromising client safety. Katie is currently completing further advanced L’Oréal training to continue delivering the highest professional standards.
