What my first week off as a salon owner taught me..

I don’t know if it’s because my year has been manic or if time is just going so quickly, but August came around and I realised that I hadn’t actually hadn’t had a full week off in 2026 yet..

Blocking out a full week in my diary felt daunting though..

My responsibilities are so much bigger now and I’ve been so focused on so many things that I couldn’t even think about having any time away from it all..

But August came around and I was starting to feel burnt out.

And if I hadn’t blocked that week out in September, I think I would’ve come pretty close to my body forcing me to take one for unfortunate reasons..

So I took it.

And my GOD do I want another😅

I realised that all of the awful things I thought would happen.. didn’t!

The salon survived, the world kept turning and I came back feeling like I’d actually caught up with myself..

I’ve had time to reset, think clearly and gain some energy, which can only be a good thing for me and my business

Taking time out isn’t a sign that things are slowing down..

It’s essential.

And another thing it’s taught me?
NEVER go nearly the whole year without time off again😅

*adding ‘organise time off for the next 12 months’ to my to do list 🤓

We didn’t want a bob for the ‘ber months 🍂

This gorgeous client came to me wanting to talk through her options with hair extensions..

She’d loved her bob for long enough, but she felt like longer hair was missing from her autumn/winter personality🤭

The consultation was so important as this sort of transformation with hair extensions isn’t for everyone. So once we’d gone over the commitment, the maintenance, the investment and all the Q&A’s.. we made a plan and put it in the diary..

And here we are✨

Using we decided on the perfect shade, specific placement, two different methods and 200g of hair to we create the length and fullness she was missing..

We’re both obsessed with how gorgeous and natural this looks on her🤎

A little look into THE SIGNATURE SERIES 🤎

Something I’ve been working on behind the scenes for a little while now, and I’m so excited to finally be sharing it with you🥹

The Signature Series is my way of bringing together everything I love about hairdressing, from the technical side of colour and capturing content, to the business knowledge that comes with growing as a stylist..

These sessions are designed around YOU

Your goals, your current skill set, the areas you want to improve and the things you want to feel more confident with behind the chair

But there’s something else that’s just as important to me..

I’m very much still in my own learning journey. I still invest in educating myself, there are things I’d love to learn, and I know there will always be room for me to grow..

But one thing I’ve come to realise is just how much the environment you’re learning in, and the connections you make along the way, can change everything🫶🏼

Being in a room where questions are welcomed, where encouragement is given freely and where someone genuinely wants to see you succeed can make such a difference to your confidence, your mindset and the way you approach your work

And that’s a huge part of why I wanted to create The Signature Series..

Not because I feel like I’ve reached the top or have every answer, but because I know how valuable it can be to have someone in your corner

Someone who’s happy to share what they know, talk through the things you’re struggling with and help you find ways to move forward

And if I can be that person in your corner, even in a small way, then that’s exactly what I want to do 🤎
