Maybe it’s posting a photo of your work.

Or perhaps it’s simply telling someone what you offer.

Little steps might not feel exciting, but they’re how confidence and businesses grow.

Here’s something I want you to remember.

Your certificate shows you’ve achieved the required standard. Your confidence grows through experience. 💕

You don’t need to know everything on day one.

You don’t need to compare yourself to therapists who’ve been working for years.

And you certainly don’t need to have everything figured out before you take your next step.

Start small. Keep practising. Ask questions. Celebrate the little wins.

You qualified for a reason. Now give yourself permission to grow. ✨

✨ Morning Sparkle – Every Chapter Counts ✨

Facebook popped up with this memory from 10 years ago, when I rented a beautiful space within a salon.

It got me thinking about just how much has changed over the years.

In fact, I sat and worked it out… and in my 20 years in the beauty industry, I’ve worked from 12 different locations!

From starting out working from home and mobile, to renting little rooms in hairdressers, moving into larger salons with training facilities, and eventually having my own premises in three different locations and employing staff.

That’s quite a journey!

And looking back, every one of those places represents a different chapter of my life.

Some were exciting new beginnings. Some were big leaps of faith. Some brought wonderful opportunities, and others came with challenges I hadn’t expected.

I’ve made decisions I’m really proud of… and a few that, with hindsight, I might have done differently!

But here’s what struck me this morning.

Not every step forward looks like progress at the time.

Sometimes we grow, sometimes we change direction, and sometimes we realise that what we thought we wanted isn’t quite right for us anymore.

And that’s OK.

Because none of those experiences were wasted.

Today, I’m taking everything I’ve learnt from those 20 years, the successes, the mistakes and the lessons along the way, and using it to help others build their own confidence and businesses.

Perhaps that’s what experience really is.

Not having all the answers, but having enough stories, lessons and understanding to help someone else along their journey.

So if you’re looking back at where you’ve been and wondering whether you should be further ahead by now, remember…

You’re not starting from scratch. You’re starting from experience.

Every chapter has helped shape the person you are today.

Can’t believe it was over 3 years ago I launched Your Beauty Business Box!

I am so honoured to have helped so many people since 2017 achieve their dream of owning their own business salon or training academy.

I came across a photo of this little stone with two simple words painted on it…

Don’t Wait.

And it got me thinking…

How often do we put things off?

We tell ourselves we’ll start something when we have more time, when we’re less busy, when the children are older, when we’ve got more money, or when life settles down a little.

But does life ever really settle down?

There’s always another job to do, another responsibility, another reason why now might not be the right time.

And before we know it, weeks turn into months and those things we wanted to do are still sitting on our someday list.

Now, I’m not suggesting we all rush out and turn our lives upside down today!

But perhaps there’s something small we could do.

Make that phone call. Arrange that coffee with a friend. Start that little project. Book that day out. Or simply make time for something that makes us happy.

Because sometimes we’re so busy planning for the future that we forget to enjoy what’s right in front of us.

We don’t always need the perfect time. Sometimes we just need to make a little time.

So my thought for today is…

What’s one thing you’ve been putting off that you could take a small step towards today?

Don’t wait for everything to be perfect.

✨ Has September knocked you out of your flow too?

September has been BUSY in my world! 😂

As a teacher, it’s meant a brand-new term, new students, new courses, lesson planning and getting back into the routine of college life.

And as a mum of a 12-year-old, it’s also been about settling back into school life after a busy summer, getting back into routines and suddenly remembering just how much there is to juggle!

And somewhere amongst all of that… I’ve lost my flow a little with my own business too.

Sound familiar? 💖

Sometimes it’s not that we don’t know what we should be doing. Life just gets busy, other things need our attention and before we know it, the things we wanted to do in our business have slipped further and further down the list.

So as we head into October, I’m pressing my own little RESET button too. ✨

And that’s exactly what I want the Beauty Business Sparkle Hub to help you with.

Not more pressure.
Not another enormous course you never have time to finish.
But somewhere to come back to when you’ve lost your way a little and need some direction, accountability, ideas and a friendly nudge to get moving again.

How is it Monday already?

It feels like five minutes ago I was sitting in a café on Saturday, enjoying this lovely frothy coffee with the whole weekend still ahead of me.

And suddenly… here we are.

A new week, and for me, a very busy one.

Looking at this photo this morning reminded me how quickly those little moments of calm can pass us by. We can spend our weekends thinking about what needs doing on Monday… and then spend Monday wishing we’d made more of the weekend.

So this morning I’m trying not to look at the whole week at once.

I’ll make my list, decide what really needs my attention today and, as always, focus on one thing at a time.

Because a busy week doesn’t have to mean a frantic week.

And perhaps that’s the reminder I need from my Saturday coffee…

Enjoy the quiet moments when they’re there. ☕
And when life gets busy again, take a little bit of that calm with you.

All set up for the first day with my VIP student. Some nail art to ease in gently and crafts to brake the session up. We are going to have a lovely day.

Although I teach at further education college aswell, I know that type of educational setting isn’t for everyone. That’s why I offer one to one education in my academy in Chester for all learners including those with an EHCP. Supporting from skill to business set up or workplace mentorship.

Can’t believe it’s been 9 years since I was approved by ABT and HG Beauty Academy became official.

I had a 3 year old son who had been poorly for the last 12 months, I had been made redundant from college!!!
But instead of thinking - why me? I was determined to create my dream of owning a Training Academy and build a business for the future of my family 🙂

And 9 years on I have learnt a lot, grown massively and created a service for my learners who want that extra one to one support and care.
Helping them not only develop their beauty and nail skills but to turn their skills into a profitable business.

Here’s to the next 9 years hehe
