Sunday 18th October marks World Menopause Day, an international awareness day dedicated to opening conversations, sharing knowledge and supporting women through menopause and the changes that come with it.

This World Menopause Day we look back at award winning “generations of beauty” collection created for - The collection features mature models over 60 chosen by Richard to communicate an empowering message, showcasing that beauty knows no age. The multi-generational casting of the shot shook the industry upon its launch at the world largest beauty trade show in Bologna, Italy in early 2024.

Richard has been backstage again for another season of London Fashion Week!

This season he was requested by seven designers to create their runway hair looks.

The 2nd show of the season was for Ukrainian design couple who showcased their latest hybrid collection of workwear and summer wear designed to confuse and inspire.

Richard and his backstage collective of renowned hairdressers - Team Phillipart - executed his hair design which explored the idea of blurring things together that don’t always belong together. Frizzy and matted textures in the hair were expertly styled into complex chignons usually only seen sleek and smooth.

We are sure you will join us in congratulating our Apprentice Amy, who has passed her trade test with Richard and progressed to the next step in her career, a position on our Senior Apprentice Team.

Thanks to the importance she has put into learning her craft, Amy had the confidence to sit her trade test three months earlier than scheduled. 
 
For her trade test with Richard, Amy had to complete a full day’s schedule of clients that was both executed to the appropriate standard and within the allocated time allowance. 
 
Richard has this to say about Amy’s achievement:
 
“I’m incredibly proud of how far Amy has come and the dedication she shows to her training. Passing her trade test three months ahead of schedule is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of her hard work and commitment.
Her confidence and technical skills have developed so much, and I’m delighted to recognise her progress with this well-deserved promotion to our Senior Apprentice Team.
I’m looking forward to seeing her continue to grow and develop her craft.” 

Amy will start to accept her own clientele from Saturday 24th October.

We love our new two-storey, canal side venue at The National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port.

Each day we see the Manchester Ship Canal alive with wildlife, swans, fishermen and the tankers that sail up and down.

This week was a special gift as a beautiful double rainbow was visible from the salon across the canal. A double rainbow has a long spiritual meaning of symbolising good fortune and new beginnings so we can only take this as a divine sign meant for us at our new venue. 🌈🌈
