🌊 Anxiety isn’t always panic attacks.

Sometimes it’s finally sitting down at the end of the day..and not being able to switch off.

🪫It’s checking your phone one more time
🪫Replaying conversations in your head
🪫Thinking about tomorrow before today is even over
🪫Feeling restless when everything is actually ok

Anxiety doesn’t have to look dramatic from the outside. Sometimes it looks like being constantly busy, always prepared, and never quite able to relax.

Sometimes we’re on high alert for so long, waiting for the next disaster, that we don’t know how to switch off that alarm.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Counselling can help you understand what’s driving the anxiety and find better ways to feel calmer, safer and more present in your life.

It's Men's Health Week.

We can all be deeply affected by grief but we have found that men may experience it in different ways to women.

I love this description of grief. A door can close and never be opened again but the oceans, lakes, and seas are always open. We can’t close the door on grief. We float with grief everyday but can always take a rest on shore.

So often after abuse we are ashamed that during the trauma we froze. But it's an evolutionary instinct, not a choice. It is a sign only of the level of threat we experienced, not our level of complicity.

🌊 Most people don’t come to counselling because things are bad.
They come because they’re exhausted.
Exhausted from being the one that everyone relies on.
Exhausted from saying “I’m fine” when they’re anything but.
Exhausted from carrying worries, responsibilities and emotions that nobody else seems to see.
Many people imagine counselling is only for when you’re falling apart.
In reality, I often meet people who are holding everything together.

⚠️They’re going to work
⚠️Looking after their families
⚠️Meeting deadlines
⚠️Showing up for everyone else.

From the outside they seem to be coping. But inside they’re running on empty.

The challenge is that when you’ve spent months, or even years, pushing through, exhaustion can start to feel normal. You stop noticing how much energy it takes to get through the day.

Counselling isn’t only for crises. It’s also a space to pause, reflect, and understand what’s been weighing on you for so long.

You don’t have to wait until you reach breaking point before asking for support.

🌊 It’s one of the most common things I hear.

Not just physically tired.

Emotionally tired.

Tired of overthinking.
Tired of carrying everyone else’s needs.
Tired of feeling “on” all the time.
Tired of trying to keep up.

Many people are searching for answers to anxiety, burnout and overwhelm right now. But sometimes the problem isn’t that you’re not coping well enough.

Sometimes you’ve simply been coping for too long.

Counselling offers a space where you don’t have to hold everything together. A space to explore what’s beneath the stress, understand your emotions and reconnect with yourself.

You don’t have to wait until you’re at breaking point to seek support.

If anxiety, burnout, grief or life feels heavier than usual, counselling may help.
