Some more of your lovey reviews ❤️ Reading these reviews really puts a smile on my face ☺️ Thankyou # # #

These photos were taken just two weeks apart.

When this client first came to see me, they had a noticeable increase in thoracic kyphosis, along with stiffness and reduced mobility through the neck, shoulders, and upper back.

Following treatment, they were given a personalised programme of mobility and strengthening exercises to continue at home. Their commitment to completing these consistently has already made a huge difference.

The improvement you can see isn’t just from what happens in the clinic—it’s the result of putting in the work between appointments👏

Imagine where they’ll be in another few weeks if they keep this up!

A great reminder that lasting results come from the combination of the right treatment, the right exercises, and consistency!

⚠️ Cauda Equina Syndrome ⚠️

I want to share a real case to help you understand why Cauda Equina Syndrome must be taken seriously. A few weeks ago, a client came in with knee pain as his primary concern. During my assessment, which involved looking at the joints above and below, I noticed he also had bilateral leg pain. I asked some further questions about saddle numbness and bowel changes, and he confirmed them. Because I asked those key questions, we made an urgent referral. After seeing his GP, he was rushed to A&E and scans confirmed the diagnosis. Now, he’s getting the treatment he needs.

So what actually is CES?
Cauda Equina is a bundle of nerve roots at the base of your spine, and when these nerves are compressed, it disrupts sensation and function in both legs, as well as bladder and bowel control. This is why early recognition and urgent care are vital. Cauda Equina is a medical emergency—it’s not the same as sciatica. Sciatica is common, often caused by nerve irritation, but Cauda Equina is rare and far more serious.

This client rang to thank me as he had seen 3 other health professionals who had not noticed these symptoms. I say this not to speak negatively of those other professionals but to show how easily these signs can be missed. As physiotherapists, we’re trained to spot this red flag, but it’s crucial that everyone knows the signs. If you feel any of these symptoms— leg pain, saddle numbness, or changes in bladder or bowel function, don’t wait. Seek urgent medical help. Your awareness could save your mobility, or even your life.

What is kyphosis??

Kyphosis is an excessive forward curve of the upper back, often resulting in a rounded or “hunched” posture. While some curvature is completely normal, when it becomes more pronounced it can contribute to pain, stiffness, reduced mobility, balance issues, and difficulty carrying out everyday activities.

Kyphosis can develop for a number of reasons, including age-related changes, poor posture, osteoporosis, spinal fractures, or certain medical conditions.

The good news? 💪 Physiotherapy can often help improve posture, increase strength and flexibility, reduce pain, and help you move with more confidence. While structural changes to the spine can’t always be reversed, targeted exercises and education can make a significant difference to your function and quality of life.

If you’ve noticed your posture changing or you’re struggling with upper back pain, don’t ignore it—early assessment and the right treatment can help.

📍If you’d like an assessment or have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

Just a little update to my cancellation policy 💗

As a small business, last-minute cancellations can have a big impact, so I’ll now be asking for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.

Thank you so much for your understanding and for continuing to support my small business. I truly appreciate every one of you!
