If you’ve started laser tattoo removal and noticed a white, frosty look on your tattoo right after treatment, don’t worry, it’s totally normal!

This is what we call “Whitening” or “Frosting.”

It happens when the laser hits the ink and causes a rapid reaction that creates tiny gas bubbles under the skin. These bubbles reflect light, giving the area a white, frosted appearance.

Whitening is a sign that the laser is doing its job and it usually fades within 15–30 minutes after your treatment.
