Dirty Blonde

This was a task and a half trying to get a photograph in the wind. And I don’t think I did it before photo. Och well!

Sometimes blondes don’t need to be Ash. A golden blonde is always brighter. As it reflects the lights. Lovely Gracie’s been coming to me for years and we’ve done loads of foils and lots of different variations of blonde but I think this is my favourite. We did a braided balayage. Which I haven’t done in ages, but it was so much fun. I’ll be honest though I wish I took the dark down further to have more of a contrast but still in love with it.

Being a blonde is a journey and doesn’t happen over night. You need to have the patience to sit for multiple appointments.

Just like this lovely lady. However I did it in 3 with loads of time between each appointment!

Well this is a massive transformation. 8 hours almost of pure shenanigans. Stripping out old colour. With some lovely green on the ends. A massive cut and restyle. A wee grey blending and jobs a good’un.

One day I got a messaging asking if I could do this hair. Of course I said yes! This was a whole day session. I made a joke that it was going to take eight hours. It took 7 and a half! If you swipe, you’ll see what we started with. And this wasn’t virgin Hair. There was years of colour to remove.

I started off by using the CPR by Malibu C just to start the process as I feel it’s a nice and gentle. This was followed by using the Schwarzkopf colour remover with 3%. I then did a very gentle bleach. This was applied all over the Hair. I used using 4.5%. Starting on the end, then the mid length. I didn’t apply to the roots as we wanted to do a wee root shadow so the grow out wasn’t harsh. The bleach was left on for an hour.

Roots 6.16
Mid lengths 8.19
End 1.1

not gonna lie, it went really dark and it scared me. And my Client.

Results sleep for themselves though!!

So good I couldn’t fit all her hair in the top photo!

This is a work in progress to get to milky blonde and I dont think I did too bad getting her to this colour from her before.

This however took 7 hours, 840g of lightener (over 12 bowls) 3 and half hours of back to back teasy lights, 2 bowls of toner and one very happy girlie!

Sometime a blonde just doesn’t need toning. This is raw lift. Lifting low and slow to save rapidly lift the hair and having to tone but you’re working with an undertone from hell. I let most of my bleach clients cook for on average an hour. Some need a little longer.

Something important to remember aswell is what lightener you are using and its active lift time. I use which has a 2 hour active lift. Some have a short active lift tome of 20 to 35mins.
