“Owners are ALWAYS the best barbers in the shop… right? 👀”

I don’t believe that’s true—and I’m saying that as an owner.

I’m going to break down exactly why I think that’s a myth, and why choosing the owner just because they’re the owner might not always be the best decision.

Quick question: when you’re booking with a new barbershop and you’re a bit nervous, do you automatically book the owner because you assume they’re the best? 👀💈✂️

Ross and his son popped into Legacy for a fresh new look, and it was an absolute pleasure to have them both in the shop.

Shelby was brilliant with Ross’s little one—patient, calm, and knew exactly how to make him feel comfortable. Working with kids takes a special touch, and she absolutely nailed it. There were a few questionable facial expressions along the way… we’re still not sure if he was getting a haircut or trying to scare Shelby off! 😂 Either way, she didn’t flinch, and he left looking fresh.

Ross went for a clean skin fade with added texture, keeping the natural choppiness of his hair while just neatening up the fringe for an effortless finish.

We went for a burst fade with tiger stripes, keeping the line-up and edge-up at the front slightly heavier to make it really pop and stand out. We added plenty of texture through the top before finishing with texture powder and Fudge styling product to create that choppy look.

Love this style on him—such versatile hair, and it suits him every time 🔥

Sometimes the best haircuts are the simplest.
