Leaving the studio tonight after teaching Lunar Flow based on today's moon phase, and there she was, waiting outside for me.

The Waxing Gibbous Moon in Pisces.

There’s something about this phase of the moon that always feels like a quiet reminder that not everything needs to be finished yet & I really needed that reminder.

The Waxing Gibbous is the space between intention and fullness. Things are growing, shifting and taking shape, even when we can’t quite see where they’re leading us.

Then Pisces brings that softer invitation to loosen our grip a little. To stop trying to work everything out & listen to what we feel as much as what we think we know.

Maybe we don’t need all the answers tonight.
Maybe we don’t need to know exactly how it’s going to happen & the thing we've been working towards is already unfolding in ways we can’t see yet.

So take this as a reminder -

Keep showing up.

Keep tending to what matters.

Keep trusting the little nudges.

We don’t have to force what is already finding its way to us.

Tomorrow night we’ll be gathering for our Autumn Equinox Wreath Making evening.

Beautiful seasonal foliage, a couple of hours to switch off and create, freshly baked cakes and, of course, a proper cuppa.

You don’t need any experience and you absolutely don’t need to consider yourself creative.

Lizzy will guide you through making your own autumn wreath to take home, while you simply enjoy the process.

Cosy, creative, relaxed and the perfect autumnal evening to start the season.

Quite honestly, add your comfiest jumper, and your fluffiest socks and I’m not sure Friday night gets much better than that.

A little honest studio talk.

I want to start by saying I genuinely hate cancelling classes. It’s probably one of the most demoralising parts of running the studio, especially when so much thought goes into building a timetable around your feedback and the classes you tell us you’d love to see.

However (fancy but), the slightly boring reality of running a small independent, family run studio is that classes need people in them to be able to stay on the timetable.

So going forward, classes will need a minimum of 4 people booked by 8pm the evening before to go ahead. If we haven’t reached that number, unfortunately the class will need to be cancelled.

Please know that I completely understand that life happens. Plans change, work runs late, children get poorly and sometimes you simply don’t know what you’re doing until the day itself. I’ll always understand that, as my life can often throw things up into the air.

But if there’s a class you really love and you want to see it stay, please book it when you can rather than waiting until the day where possible.

I build our timetable from your feedback because I genuinely want this studio to offer the classes you want to come to. Ultimately though, the only way I know that a class is working is when people actually book it.

When I break for half term with the kids, I’ll be reviewing the timetable and making changes based on what’s working, what’s being booked and what simply isn’t getting enough people through the door.

I hope you all know that I love what I do with my whole heart. I love teaching, I love this studio and I genuinely believe in what we’re building here. But loving what I do doesn’t change the fact that this is also my job.

I work incredibly hard behind the scenes to keep this place running, far beyond the hours you see me teaching. I need the studio to generate an income as well as being something I love.

Every class on the timetable is also time away from my own family. I’m more than happy to give that time to classes that people actually want and attend, but I an sure you understand that I can’t continue giving up time (it's precious) for classes that regularly don’t have enough bookings to make them viable.
That isn’t something I particularly enjoy saying, in fact I hate it, but it’s the reality of running a small independent business.

I can't stress enough that, I DO NOT want to reduce the timetable. I want these classes to work, I want to keep offering variety and giving you the classes you’ve asked for. For that to happen though, they need to be supported.

So if there’s a class you love and you want it to stay, please book it.

Four people. That’s all we need to keep a class running.
