Your skincare shouldn’t stop at your jawline… 🤎
One of the most commonly neglected areas when it comes to skin treatments? The neck.
And it’s an area I’m no longer happy to overlook.
Your neck is exposed to many of the same environmental factors as your face - including UV exposure - yet it’s often the first place we start noticing changes in skin texture, firmness and visible signs of ageing.
So going forward, when we’re microneedling the face, the neck will be included as standard.
Not as an optional extra.
Not something you have to remember to ask for.
Just part of the treatment.
Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries within the skin to stimulate the skin’s natural repair process and support collagen and elastin production. So if we’re using this treatment to work on the quality and appearance of the skin on your face, it makes sense to give the neck the same attention.
This is also something I’m incorporating into my new Derma 2.0 facial treatments as I gradually introduce the range into the clinic.
Because when you’re investing in improving your skin, I want us to look at the whole picture - not just the part that’s easiest to see. 🤎
Please note: this update applies to new treatments and bookings going forward. Existing treatment packages and previously purchased treatments will remain as originally agreed.
Your summer skin is being built NOW, not in June 🤎
If you’re thinking about improving your skin for next summer, please don’t wait until the warmer weather arrives to start.
Skin takes time. Real, lasting improvement comes from consistency, the right treatments, the right homecare and actually giving your skin the time it needs to respond.
Winter gives us that time.
We can focus solely on your skin and your treatment programme without having to work around as many holidays, sun exposure and the restrictions that come with summer.
And honestly… wouldn’t you rather get to summer already feeling confident in your skin, rather than panic-booking treatments because you suddenly want it “fixed” before your holiday? 😂
If your goal is smooth, healthy, effortless-looking skin for those no-makeup summer days, now is the time to start working towards it. 🤎
You don’t need to know what treatment you need - that’s my job.
We’ll assess your skin properly, understand what’s actually going on and create a plan around your skin and your goals.
📲 If you’re ready to start, send me a message or book your consultation.
“I have acne, so I must have oily skin…”
This is something I hear all the time in consultation.
And actually… not necessarily.
You can have acne and have dry, dehydrated, sensitive or even quite balanced skin.
Having spots doesn’t automatically mean your skin is producing too much oil.
Sometimes what you’re seeing as “oily skin” is actually dehydration, a compromised barrier, irritation, or simply a skin concern that needs a different approach.
And this is exactly why I don’t like guessing what your skin needs based on the concern you can see.
A client might come to me and say:
“I’ve got acne, so I’ve been using really strong products to dry it out.”
But when I assess their skin, their barrier is irritated, they’re feeling tight after cleansing and they’re using several active ingredients at once.
So the answer isn’t always “let’s use more acne products.”
Sometimes we actually need to take a step back, understand why the skin is behaving the way it is, and then build a treatment and homecare plan around their skin, not just their spots.
That’s why the consultation matters.
I don’t expect you to know what it is you need — that’s my job. 🤎
No generic guessing. We assess, we listen, and then we treat. 📲

That post-microneedling glow 🤎✨
Look at that skin.
Microneedling isn’t just about creating that lovely immediate glow — it’s a treatment I use to encourage the skin’s natural regenerative processes and improve the overall quality of the skin over time.
We’re working on things like texture, firmness, fine lines, scarring and overall skin quality, depending on what your skin actually needs.
And this is why I don’t just microneedle everyone in the same way.
Your skin, your concerns, your barrier and your goals all need to be taken into consideration before deciding what treatment is right for you.
The glow is the bonus… the long-term improvement in your skin is the goal. 🤎
If you’re wondering whether microneedling would actually be suitable for your skin, that’s exactly what we establish during your consultation. 📲

YOUR SUMMER SKINCARE ROUTINE MAY NOT BE WHAT YOUR SKIN NEEDS GOING INTO AUTUMN 🍂
As we move from warmer summer months into cooler weather, you may start noticing your skin behaving differently.
Cooler temperatures, lower humidity and indoor heating can all affect the skin — which means the routine that worked perfectly for you in July might not be what your skin needs now.
Here are 5 things I’d be reconsidering going into autumn 👇🏼
1️⃣ HYDRATION
If your skin is suddenly feeling tighter, drier or more dehydrated, it may be time to focus more on hydration and barrier support rather than simply adding more actives.
2️⃣ HOW OFTEN YOU’RE EXFOLIATING
If you’re using multiple acids, scrubs or other exfoliating products, now is a good time to reassess whether your skin actually needs that much exfoliation.
More isn’t always better — especially if your skin is becoming dry or sensitive.
3️⃣ YOUR TREATMENT PLAN
Your skin’s needs can change throughout the year, so your treatment plan shouldn’t necessarily stay exactly the same either.
Autumn can be a great time to start thinking about more targeted corrective treatments, but your skin needs to be healthy and your barrier in a good place first.
4️⃣ YOUR SPF
Please don’t ditch your SPF just because summer is over.
UV exposure doesn’t suddenly stop because it’s colder or you’re not sitting in the sun. If you’re working on pigmentation, acne marks, ageing or overall skin health, SPF is still a daily essential.
5️⃣ WHAT YOUR SKIN ACTUALLY NEEDS NOW
This is probably the most important one.
Don’t automatically carry on using the same products, treatments and routine simply because they worked for you a few months ago.
If your skin has changed, reassess it.
Your skincare routine should be based on what your skin needs now, not what it needed in the summer.
Save this as your little autumn skincare reminder 🍂🤍

Acne before & after 🤎
This result wasn’t about finding the strongest acid and throwing it at her skin.
It was about stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.
When she came to me, we didn’t just talk about what products she could put on her face. We looked at her skincare, her daily habits, what she was eating, hydration, lifestyle and what could be going on beneath the surface.
Rather than constantly trying to strip the skin back and “dry out” the acne, we focused on calming her skin barrier down and giving her skin what it actually needed.
Her homecare was tailored to her skin rather than just being a collection of strong acne-focused products.
And alongside that, we worked on the everyday things that can have an impact on how the skin behaves — including the food she was putting into her body, hydration and the habits she could realistically maintain.
Because sometimes when you’re dealing with acne, the instinct is:
“I need something stronger.”
Another acid.
Another exfoliant.
Another spot treatment.
But stronger doesn’t always mean better.
Sometimes we need to stop looking at the skin in isolation and start asking why is this skin behaving this way in the first place?
That’s the approach I take in clinic.
I’m not here to just look at your skin, tell you what products to buy and send you on your way.
I want to understand you, your skin and the bigger picture, so we can create a plan that actually makes sense for you. 🤎
And this is exactly why your consultation matters.
I don’t expect you to know what it is you need — that’s my job. 📲

BEFORE YOU SPEND ANOTHER £100 ON SKINCARE, LISTEN TO THIS 👇🏼
There are 3 things I wish more people knew before spending money on skincare…
1️⃣ Collagen can’t simply be absorbed through your skin.
I see so many products marketed around “collagen” as though applying collagen topically is going to replace the collagen your skin naturally produces.
It’s not quite that simple. Collagen molecules are too large to pe*****te the skin in the way we’re often led to believe.
2️⃣ More expensive doesn’t automatically mean better.
A £100 moisturiser isn’t automatically going to give you better results than a £30 one.
Price can reflect ingredients, formulation, packaging, branding etc — but expensive does NOT always equal effective.
3️⃣ More products doesn’t mean better results.
You don’t need a 10-step routine to have good skin.
In fact, I regularly see people using WAY too many products, layering multiple actives and wondering why their skin is irritated, congested or just not improving.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your skin is actually simplify it.
Skincare isn’t about buying more. It’s about understanding what your skin actually needs.
Save this before your next skincare shopping spree & send it to someone who needs to hear it 🤍
IF YOU DM ASKING “WHAT FACIAL DO I NEED?” THIS IS WHY MY ANSWER MIGHT FRUSTRATE YOU 👇🏼
I know it’s tempting to see a treatment trending online, decide it sounds perfect for your skin and want to book it straight away.
But the truth is, I can’t properly tell you what your skin needs from a quick DM.
During a consultation, I’m looking at so much more than the concern you’ve messaged me about.
✨ Your skin condition and current barrier health
✨ Your concerns and what you actually want to achieve
✨ Your current skincare routine + what ingredients you’re using
✨ Your lifestyle and any factors that could be contributing to your skin
✨ Your treatment history and how your skin has responded previously
✨ What is realistically achievable for your skin
✨ And most importantly — what your skin is actually suitable for
Two people can walk through my door with the same concern, but need completely different treatment approaches.
One person might need a course of targeted treatments. Another might need to focus on repairing their barrier first. Someone else might benefit more from changing their homecare before we even consider a stronger treatment.
That’s why I don’t believe in simply matching a skin concern to a treatment.
The treatment is only one part of the plan.
My approach at The Skin Salon is consultation-led and completely bespoke — because I want to understand YOUR skin, rather than just book you in for whatever treatment is currently trending.
So if you DM me asking “what facial do I need?” and I ask you to pop in to see me for a chat… this is why. 🤍
Your skin deserves assessment and bespoke advice, not a guess.
