UHI hairdressers and barbers…have you created anything you’re proud of lately? We would love to see…tag us in your posts or DM your faves.
Our students are nearing the end of their training. We are looking for specific skin types to help students complete.
We are particularly in need of oily skin types - if this is you, get in touch.
Our facials are prescriptive to your skin type using a professional range formulated to treat skin conditions and promote great skin.

If you have 1 higher/ L6 in beauty or relevant industry experience then this course is for you.
This course will teach you the skills required to work in a salon as well as enhanced electrical face and body treatments.
You will learn:
Facial electrical treatments such as skin rejuvenation, lifting and refining.
Body toning, lifting and skin softening.
Body massage, signature massage such as Thai compress/bamboo or stones.
Waxing and hand and foot treatments with gel polish.
Contemporary treatments like lash lift/brow lamination/ chemical peels.

Our industry encourages sharing techniques, trends, and business insights to allow our sector to grow and what better way to share this practice than a visit to .
Roz and I visited Motherwell and Coatbridge campuses for a look at their training facilities, meet Head of department Jane Crowe and her BAHD team and students.
The team welcomed us, shared their well being initiatives, offered us a tasty lunch at their training restaurant and showcased their treatments and services in the hair, barbering and beauty salons.
It was a great opportunity to network with like minded people and share ideas.
We look forward to inviting Jane and her team up to UHI Inverness for a visit to our fantastic facilities in the future.
Every Friday our senior phase hairdressing students gain the skills needed in the industry. Not only do the students stay at school gaining their national qualifications, they also work towards a National 4 Skills for work in hairdressing qualification- look at their amazing work
