Lymphatic congestion can look and feel different from person to person. What I notice when I’m feeling puffy or congested may look completely different from what YOU experience.

Here are a few things you may notice 👇

⚖️ Changes on the scale
Fluid retention can cause temporary changes in body weight. Your lymphatic system is constantly collecting excess fluid, proteins and cellular debris from your tissues and returning that fluid back to circulation.

This is why feeling swollen or puffy can sometimes show up on the scale too. But it’s not just water weight, our lymphatic system isn’t can be responsible for fat being deposited especially in the abdomen.

🧴 Dry, itchy or breakout-prone skin
Your skin is an important protective and excretory organ, but dry or itchy skin and acne can have MANY different causes from hormones and irritation to allergies and underlying skin conditions.

🍽️ Food sensitivities + digestive issues
Your gut and lymphatic system are closely connected. Specialized lymphatic vessels in your intestines help absorb dietary fats, and your intestinal lymphatic and immune systems are constantly interacting. If your lymph is leaky (newer research is talking about this concept) it can cause fat to be deposited especially in the abdominal region. Let me know if you want more on this.

Note that simply removing a food doesn’t necessarily tell you WHY you’re reacting to it. I always want to look at the bigger picture: digestion, gut health, immune function and the other factors that may be contributing to those symptoms. 😬

💧 Fluid retention
This is the one I was trying to demonstrate in the video one foot looking noticeably larger than the other.

Your lymphatic system is responsible for collecting excess fluid from your tissues, so persistent swelling is something worth paying attention to.

If you’re noticing puffiness or fluid accumulation, your lymphatic system may be asking for a little extra love. 😍
Come back for part 4
