The Inverness Music Festival is run by a team of dedicated volunteers,
We are a charity registered in Scotland SC013357 These include:
. There is no paid staff.
There are competitive classes throughout the Festival, which cover a large number of disciplines. Vocal : This comprises both solo singing and choirs for, amongst others, Opera, Operetta, Art song, Barbershop, Hymns, Psalms and Folk Songs.
. Instrumental : All Brass, Woodwind, Keyboard, Piano, and Stringed Instruments, solo or ensemble. Also includes composition.
. Speech : This comprises both
📣 AGM/ FESTIVAL UPDATE 2026-2027 📣
Hi everyone,
I’m pleased to announce that tonight I was re-elected to the role of Chairperson of the Inverness Festival Association by a unanimous vote 🙂 I’m delighted the committee have placed their trust in me once again again to be continuing in this role and keep leading the festival going forward! 🤩
Also, pleased to announce all of our other roles tonight, some of which are new roles created to continue strengthening what we do:
Chair/assistant Festival Organiser: Jason McClurg
Vice-chair/Festival Organiser: Samara Hodi
Treasurer: Angus Bethune, nominated in absentia but tbc at next committee meeting
Secretary: Munro Ross
Trophies Secretary: Amanda James
Friends Secretary and Committee Contact: Mary Dormer
Volunteers Secretaries: Moira Leslie and Mhairi Ross
Facilities Secretary: Nellie McClurg
🔉New roles created tonight:
Contracts Secretary: Mhairi Ross
Church Representatives/Ambassadors: Andy Bryer, Janet Bryer, Irene McCulloch or any other designated member of the church leadership team
Festival Materials Organiser: Carolyn Edees
New committee member: Trish Robertson, unanimous vote to accept by all committee. 🎵
All members above are committee members, automatically making them friends of the festival and all have voting rights in line with our constitution/guidelines. 🙂
What happens next? The planning for 2027 is already well underway!
🗓️ Tonight we provisionally set the dates for the 2027 Festival, but these will be shared once they have been fully confirmed/finalised
💰 Funding applications have been written and will be submitted by the end of the month
📝 The syllabus will start being written and completed in the next couple of months
I will do my best to keep this page updated as we go forward!

🔈AGM TONIGHT CANCELLED 🔈
Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel our AGM that was due to take place tonight. ☹️
We will reschedule it to either be held on Zoom or in person before the end of August. I will post details of this on Facebook once we finalise a date. Apologies for any inconvenience this may chase.
