Silverlinks

What a great week at Silverlinks! Our Wednesday and Thursday members were treated to a meal out at Toby Carvery due to a generous donation from a lovely gentleman (who insisted on remaining anonymous).
The gentleman approached us a fortnight ago while we were sat outside Temple Row, enjoying the sunshine. If he sees this post we'd like to say thank you again! Everyone had a wonderful time due to his kindness. We'd also like to thank the staff at the carvery who made us so welcome. They looked after us very well and they even treated everone to a free drink! :)

It was "eyes down" for our bingo session this week! :)

We have really enjoyed a talk with David Earnshaw from KHL history group. This took us back to our past and lovely memories of Keighley.

We also had a visit from one of our Carelink ladies who played the keyboard and got us all singing and dancing!

The Get Out More project brought along some flowers and herbs for us to look at and smell, bringing summer undoors into the centre!

⚽❤️ We had a fantastic time taking part in some football-themed activities this week, celebrating England's win! ⚽❤️

Last week we visited the Gatehouse and got crafty with flower arranging, knitting and watercolour painting, creating some real masterpieces. We loved this actvity which was facilitated by The Get Out More Project... big thanks to Hazel & Sue. We also enjoyed sitting outside in the sun and shade, keeping cool with our toes in the pool and eating our very tasty bbq! :)

It’s never too late to stay strong, active, and independent.

What a treat we've had this week trying new crafts with the help of Sue and Hazel from the Get Out More project.
We've been screen printing, leaf printing and felt making. It was fantastic trying new things and learning new skills!

Last week we enjoyed another visit from Bradford Youth Players who treated us to songs and dances from Beauty and the Beast .

We've had a great couple of days at Silverlinks learning new skills with the help of Action Point staff member Andy Sheppard.

Andy has been helping us to navigate the internet and as a result we have been playing games, searching old haunts and exploring maps, gardens and buildings.

This activity has definitely whet our appetite for digital activities and opened a [virtual] door into cyberspace!

We can proudly say that we are not only Silverlinkers, we are also officially Silversurfers too!

Over the last two weeks we have been enjoying the weather, playing golf, doing exercises, enjoying sports activities, dancing, visiting the shops in town and many more activities
