Although meditation and hypnosis both involve relaxation and focused attention, they have different purposes. Meditation is generally a self-guided practice that encourages mindfulness, presence, and acceptance of your thoughts without trying to change them.

Hypnosis, on the other hand, is a guided process that uses a deeply relaxed, focused state to help you work with your subconscious mind. During hypnotherapy, your therapist helps you explore unhelpful thought patterns, beliefs, or behaviours and supports you in creating positive change. Throughout hypnosis, you remain aware and in control, you can’t be made to do anything against your will. Both practices can be incredibly beneficial, but hypnotherapy is specifically designed to help you achieve targeted goals such as reducing anxiety, building confidence, improving sleep, or breaking unwanted habits.
