I thought I’d put together this simple chart to explain how botulinum toxin works over time.

A lot of people think they’re “fully frozen” for 3-4 months, but that’s not usually the case. The full effect is typically at its peak for the first 8 weeks, then the muscle activity gradually starts to return. By 3-4 months, the treatment is naturally wearing off.

Everyone metabolises toxin differently, so how long it lasts can vary from person to person, but this chart gives you a good idea of what to expect.
