The Exhale Circle 🤍

I’ve had this idea quietly taking shape for a little while and last night I finally got to bring it to life.

I wanted to create something that gave women the chance to slow down for a couple of hours, properly check in with themselves and spend time in the company of other women.

What I loved most was the conversation. That feeling when someone shares something and you realise how much of what we carry, question or experience is shared by other women too. No advice, no trying to fix anything. Just being able to talk, listen and feel understood.

We took some time to reflect on where we are just now and what we want to make more room for as we move into a new season, before the evening gradually became quieter.

Blankets, warm eye masks, soft music, a grounding meditation and group Reiki. A chance to stop thinking for a while and just completely switch off.

Some of the girls had never experienced Reiki before, and afterwards we sat together talking about the different things everyone had experienced — some colours or imagery, some warmth and other sensations, and for some just a really deep sense of relaxation.

Seeing something I’d imagined come together in the room felt really special. But even better was hearing afterwards how relaxed, connected and comfortable everyone had felt.

She gets married TOMORROW 👰🏻‍♀️🤍

So on Wednesday, amongst all the last-minute wedding prep, she came in for The Complete CODE.

Full body + facial lymphatic drainage and a couple of hours where she didn’t have to organise, plan or think about what still needed done.

Because bridal prep isn’t only about the hair, nails, tan and makeup. Feeling good going into your wedding matters too.

One final exhale before “I do.” 🤍

And just look at those results 👀

If I was having my first ever lymphatic drainage treatment, this is exactly how I’d prep 👀

1. Start the day with some gentle movement
A walk, some stretching or a little yoga. Nothing intense — just getting your body moving helps support the natural movement of lymph.

2. Stay nicely hydrated
You absolutely do not need to drown yourself in 3 litres of water beforehand 😂 Sip water regularly throughout the day rather than suddenly drinking loads just before you arrive. I love warm water with fresh lemon in the morning too — a simple way to start the day hydrated and support digestion.

3. Don’t arrive absolutely stuffed
Eat normally, but I’d avoid a huge or heavy meal immediately beforehand, especially when we’re going to be working around your abdomen. You’ll be much more comfortable on the bed.

4. Give yourself a little breathing room beforehand
A few slow, relaxed breaths and not arriving at 100mph if you can help it. Breathing creates pressure changes through the chest and abdomen that help support lymph movement — and it’s a nice way to start slowing everything down before your treatment.

5. Don’t cram something stressful straight in afterwards
If you can, give yourself a bit of space after your appointment. Keep hydrated, gently move, and actually pay attention to how your body feels over the rest of the day.

None of this is a requirement, by the way. You can turn up exactly as you are and I’ll take it from there 🤍

But if I was booking my first one? This is how I’d make the most of it.

A fairly accurate representation of how things have been going behind the scenes lately 🫠

Running a business while also being a single mum and trying to keep everything else in life ticking along is bloody hard work sometimes.

The last couple of weeks have been a LOT. Ozzy being really unwell meant cancelling a full week of clients — and when you’re self-employed, no clients means no income. My car then decided it was the perfect time to break down, and there’s been other personal stuff going on in the background too.

Meanwhile I’m still a mum, still working my other job and still trying to run and grow a business.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I just think social media shows us plenty of the “look what I’ve built” and not nearly enough of the “what the f**k is going on?” parts in between.

Sometimes keeping all the plates spinning is just really bloody hard. And I know I won’t be the only woman who’s felt like that lately.

Thankfully Ozzy is doing much better, I’m back in the studio next week and the process continues! 😵‍💫😂 The car remains broken though…😫

If it’s good enough for Mrs Bieber, it’s good enough for us, right? 👀

If you’re still wondering why everyone’s suddenly obsessed with lymphatic drainage… consider this your sign to find out.

September & October appointments are open. Come see what your body’s been missing. ✨

Midlife can bring changes that feel confusing, overwhelming and, for some women, genuinely debilitating.

You might not feel quite like yourself anymore, your body can feel different, symptoms you weren’t expecting can appear — all while life around you carries on expecting the same things from you.

So on Sunday 11th October, I’m welcoming Lyndsey from The Menopause Mentor to The Wellness Code for an afternoon dedicated to women navigating midlife, perimenopause and menopause.

Lyndsey will be sharing her knowledge around the different stages, symptoms and solutions, HRT and alternatives, as well as how we can support our health now and our future health and longevity. There’ll also be time for questions and open conversation along the way.

We’ll also look at something I hear from women in my treatment room all the time — why can it feel so difficult to actually slow down? Even when we’ve made the time for ourselves, switching off isn’t always as easy as it sounds. We’ll explore that together before finishing with a gentle guided grounding experience.

We want you to leave feeling more informed about what’s happening in your body, with practical ways to support yourself and hopefully feeling a little less alone in navigating this stage of life.

And I’m really pleased that all ticket proceeds from the afternoon will be split equally between Menopause and Cancer and Ayrshire Cancer Support 🤍
