⚠️ Aesthetic Practitioners – An Important Clinical Update

As the use of GLP-1 weight loss medications such as Mounjaro® (tirzepatide), Zepbound® and Ozempic®/Wegovy® (semaglutide) continues to rise, it’s important that we stay informed about emerging evidence that may impact our patients.

There have been reports of delayed inflammatory reactions occurring in some patients with previous hyaluronic acid products after starting GLP-1 medications. These reactions can present as swelling, tenderness, redness or firm nodules in areas where filler was placed, sometimes many months after treatment.

The good news is that these reactions appear to be rare. Current evidence suggests they may be an immune-mediated inflammatory response in susceptible individuals rather than the medication directly affecting the filler itself. At present, the exact mechanism is still being investigated, and more research is needed.

This isn’t about causing alarm or discouraging the use of either dermal fillers/skin boosters or GLP-1 medications. Instead, it’s about ensuring we continue to provide the safest possible care through good consultation, informed consent and ongoing clinical awareness.

As practitioners, it’s worth considering:
✔️ Asking whether patients are currently taking, or are planning to start, a GLP-1 medication.
✔️ Advising patients to contact their practitioner promptly if they notice swelling, redness, tenderness or lumps in areas of previous filler treatment after starting these medications.
✔️ Keeping consultation forms and medical histories up to date as new evidence emerges.

Our consultation processes should evolve alongside the science. Staying informed, reviewing our protocols and sharing knowledge with one another helps us maintain the highest standards of patient safety.

Have you updated your consultation forms to include GLP-1 medications, or have you encountered this in practice? I’d be interested to hear your experiences. 🥰

1st Session Lip Filler Dissolving ✨

The difference after just one dissolving session is astonishing! 🤍

Some clients may require more than one session to achieve their desired result, depending on the type and amount of filler present.

Keep an eye out for the refilled results coming soon! 👀💋

Please note: • Not all fillers can be dissolved, so it's important to know which product was originally used. • Always choose a fully trained, qualified medical professional to carry out filler dissolving. • Hyaluronidase (the dissolving product) is a prescription-only medicine and should only be prescribed and administered appropriately.

Your safety should always come first. 🤍

LipGoals

Sometimes, less really is more. đź’•

This beautiful client decided to dissolve her lip filler after experiencing puffiness, filler migration, and creasing. The result?

Softer, more natural-looking lips with improved shape and definition.

The best part? She loved the outcome so much that she chose not to have her lips refilled.

Natural lips are making a comeback, and more clients are choosing subtle, balanced results over an overfilled look. Every face is unique, and the right treatment is the one that makes you feel your most confident.

Thinking about dissolving your filler or unsure if your lips need a refresh?
Book a consultation, and let's create a treatment plan that's right for you.

Sometimes, less is more.

Elective dermal filler dissolving is all about restoring balance, refining results, and helping clients feel confident in their natural features. Every face is unique, and every treatment plan is tailored with safety, precision, and your goals in mind.

Whether you're looking to refresh previous filler or simply start with a clean slate, I'm here to guide you every step of the way. đź’‰

Not all filler stays exactly where it was placed. Over time, dermal filler can migrate beyond the treatment area, affecting both appearance and facial harmony.

If you've noticed: • Lips looking wider rather than fuller • Puffiness above the lip border ("filler moustache") • Unevenness or loss of definition • A result that no longer feels like you.

Elective filler dissolving may be the best first step before considering fresh treatment.

My priority is always safe, ethical, and natural-looking results. Every consultation is personalised to determine whether dissolving is the right option for you.
