Over the weekend I sadly saw a number of posts from small businesses announcing they were having to close. It was a reminder that, whilst we absolutely love what we do, we are still a business and we have to make enough to keep our doors open.

That’s why we have certain policies in place, such as our cancellation policy. They’re never there to catch anyone out or be unfair. If an appointment is cancelled on the day, especially for longer colour services, we can lose £90+ in income, and in many cases we’ve already purchased and prepared the products needed for that appointment. It’s not just the time we’ve lost, but the cost of the products too.

We also sometimes get asked if it’s okay to bring children to appointments if they aren’t booked in. We completely understand that childcare can be difficult, and we never want to put anyone in an awkward position. However, there are times when we simply don’t have the space, or we need to be able to fully concentrate on the service we’re providing. We also want to respect other clients who may be enjoying some quiet time and a chance to relax.

Like every business, we’d love to be able to offer even more—whether that’s air conditioning, extra comforts or new services—but everything comes at a cost. We do our best to keep our prices fair while continuing to provide the quality and experience our clients expect.

We genuinely appreciate every single person who chooses to support our salon. So if you ever feel frustrated by one of our policies, we just ask that you remember they’re there to help keep our business sustainable, so we can continue doing what we love for you all.

My client wanted to change from highlights to all over colour today so I toned her hair down but not too dark so she still feels blonde.
