One of the biggest lessons in barbering is understanding that not every haircut is going to be perfect straight away❌

In this video, Tonie explains that with a new client, it can often take two or even three haircuts to fully understand their hair, growth patterns, styling habits, and exactly what they’re looking for.

The key is communication. Be honest with your clients, explain the process, and let them know you’re working towards the best possible result over time. Most clients will appreciate the attention to detail and the fact that you’re taking their haircut seriously rather than rushing to make promises you can’t keep.

Before you cut, you need to see exactly what you’re working with. Brushing the beard out exposes the bulk, highlights uneven areas, and makes it clear where weight needs to be removed for a cleaner, more balanced finish ✂️
