Sadly, Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80. Her family announced her death on 25 August 2026. Her publicist said she had been facing a brief battle with cancer and died at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, surrounded by loved ones.

She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy through music, film and philanthropy, including “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “I Will Always Love You,” and her Imagination Library literacy programme.
