Why do we call autumn and winter peel season?

As the weather gets cooler and we naturally spend less time in strong sunlight, autumn is one of the best times to start introducing professional skin peels.

Skin peels work by removing built up dead skin cells and encouraging fresh, healthy skin to come through. Depending on the peel chosen, they can help improve dullness, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, congestion, breakouts, texture and fine lines.

Because freshly treated skin can be more sensitive to UV exposure, the cooler months make it much easier to protect the skin properly while it is renewing.

It is also a great time to start working on any pigmentation, congestion or skin changes that have appeared over the summer and build a treatment plan over the autumn and winter months.

This beautiful patient, Ailish, first came to see me at the end of January as she is getting married soon and wanted to improve her skin texture, tone and overall skin health as well as getting into a consistent at-home skincare routine.

I honestly can’t believe it’s been over a year since I opened the doors and got my HIS registration through. What a fast year it’s been and I’ve enjoyed every second of it.

Being from Linlithgow myself has made opening my own clinic here feel even more special. I already knew so many people in the area but over the past year I’ve met so many more lovely people, built new relationships and felt really supported.

This year has meant so much to me. Opening my own clinic was a huge decision and giving up my full-time offshore job was another massive step. But I’m so glad I’ve done it and it’s been amazing watching it grow and getting to do something I love every day.

One of the best parts has been creating a lovely safe space for people to come, relax and feel comfortable. Building relationships with my patients has meant so much too and I can honestly say that so many of you now feel like friends.

To everyone that has recommended me to their family and friends, thank you. Word of mouth and your recommendations are what have helped my business continue to grow and I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know.
