You don’t have to feel confident before you start. 💜
You might feel nervous. You might wonder if you’ll be able to do it. You might worry about being the least fit person there.
That’s OK.
☆ You don’t have to know what you’re doing.
☆ You don’t have to be fit before you begin.
☆ You don’t have to feel ready.
You just have to give yourself the chance to try.
Confidence can grow along the way, one session at a time.
And you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. 💜

Strength training & menopause 💜
There’s a lot of information out there about what we should be doing during menopause. So let’s keep it simple.
★ **Build and maintain muscle.** Strength training helps you stay strong and makes everyday life easier.
★ **Look after your bones.** Resistance training and weight-bearing exercise help maintain bone strength, which becomes particularly important around menopause.
★ **Find a routine you can stick to.** Two strength sessions a week is a good target. Start where you are and build from there.
★ **Give yourself time to recover.** More isn’t always better. Your training should challenge you without leaving you feeling constantly exhausted.
And one important thing to remember…
Strength training isn’t a magic cure for hot flushes, poor sleep or every other menopause symptom. But it is a really valuable part of looking after your long-term health.
You don’t need to lift the heaviest weights, keep up with anyone else or get every session right.
You need to find what works for YOUR body, make it manageable and keep going.
💜 Stronger for the life you’re living now — and the years ahead.
Save this for a reminder, or share it with someone who needs to hear it.

The moment women almost quit exercise… 💜
It’s not always because exercise is too hard.
Sometimes life just gets in the way.
⭐ Work gets busy. Family needs you. You’re juggling a hundred things and exercise slips down the list
⭐ You miss a few sessions and find it harder to get back into your routine
⭐ You’re not seeing the progress you hoped for, or your body feels different to how it used to
And before you know it, something that made you feel good has become another thing you feel guilty about not doing.
Sound familiar?
If you’ve ever nearly given up on exercise because life got in the way, you’re definitely not alone.
💜 You don’t need a perfect week
💜 You don’t need to make up for missed sessions
💜 You don’t need to start all over again on Monday
You just need to find a way back that works for YOU.
Sometimes that’s doing less. Sometimes it’s changing your routine. Sometimes it’s simply showing up for one session.
Progress isn’t about getting it right every time. It’s about finding a way to keep going, even when life gets in the way.

💜 Signs your body might benefit from strength training…
⭐ Everyday tasks feel harder than they used to
⭐ You feel like you’ve lost some strength
⭐ Carrying shopping, climbing stairs or getting up off the floor takes more effort
⭐ You want to look after your muscles, bones and long-term health
⭐ You want to feel stronger and more capable in everyday life
You don’t have to wait until something feels difficult to start.
Strength training isn’t just about how you look. It’s about what your body can do, now and as you get older.
And you don’t need to lift heavy weights or know what you’re doing before you begin. You can start where you are, with options that work for you.
💜 Be kind to yourself. Your body is worth looking after.

Strong women support each other. 💜
Not because we always have it all figured out.
Not because we never struggle.
And definitely not because we can do everything on our own.
Sometimes strength looks like encouraging someone else.
Sometimes it’s celebrating another woman’s progress.
Sometimes it’s making someone laugh when they’re having a rubbish day.
And sometimes it’s simply knowing there are people around you who get it.
✦ ✦ ✦
I think that’s one of the loveliest things about training with other people.
You turn up for yourself, but you don’t have to do it alone.
There’s encouragement, a bit of accountability, plenty of laughter — and usually someone reminding you that you’re doing better than you think.

Motivation fades. Routine keeps you going. 💜
How often have you started something feeling really motivated, only to find that feeling disappears a week or two later?
Life gets busy. Work takes over. You’re tired. Something unexpected comes up. And suddenly, the thing you wanted to do for yourself slips down the list.
⭐ That’s why I believe routine matters so much more than motivation
Not a rigid routine that adds more pressure to your life. Not an all-or-nothing approach where missing one session feels like failure.
But finding something that works for YOU.
💜 A time that fits around your commitments
💜 Movement that suits your body and your ability
💜 Something you enjoy enough to want to come back to
💜 The flexibility to adapt when life doesn’t go to plan
You don’t need to be motivated every time. You just need to find a way of making movement part of your life that feels realistic and sustainable.
Because consistency isn’t about getting everything right. It’s about finding your way back to it, again and again.
⭐ I’d love to know — what helps YOU stay consistent with movement? Is it having a set time, booking a class, exercising with someone else, or something completely different?

I think the thing I hear most often from women before their first session is how nervous they feel about coming along.
Worried they won’t be fit enough, that everyone else will know what they’re doing, or that they’ll struggle to keep up.
And I get it. Starting something new can feel daunting, especially when you’re not quite sure what to expect.
✦ But one of the things I love most is seeing that nervousness turn into confidence.
People getting to know each other, encouraging each other, having a laugh and realising that exercise doesn’t have to be something you do on your own.
There’s no pressure to be perfect, no need to keep up with anyone else. Just showing up, doing what you can, building strength and enjoying the process.
💜 Because it’s not just about the workout. It’s about the support, the connection and the people who get it.
✦ If you’ve been thinking about giving a session a try but feeling a little nervous, you’re not alone. And you’re very welcome to come along.
Send me a DM if you’d like to know more. 💜

Stronger, not smaller.
✦
Maybe we need to rethink what we’re actually aiming for.
Not a smaller body.
Not a smaller dress size.
Not constantly trying to eat less, weigh less or take up less space.
✦
What about being able to lift more?
Move with more confidence?
Feel stronger in your everyday life?
Trust your body a little more?
✦
That’s the kind of progress I want to see.
Because strength isn’t about changing the size of you.
It’s about changing what you believe you can do. 💜

There’s something about working out with other people that makes it about so much more than exercise.
Not because you have to be the fittest person in the room
Not because anyone is keeping score
And definitely not because you need to smash every session
It’s the little things…
✦ Someone notices when you’ve made progress
✦ Someone gives you a bit of encouragement when you’re not feeling it
✦ You have a laugh
✦ You turn up because you know people are expecting you
✦ You realise you’re capable of more than you thought
And sometimes, you simply enjoy moving your body more because you’re doing it alongside people you like.
That’s a big part of what I love about EmPower group sessions.
Yes, we work on strength, fitness and all the physical stuff.
But there’s also the connection.
The encouragement.
The chat.
The sense that you belong.
Because exercise doesn’t always have to be something you squeeze into your day on your own.
Sometimes it’s better when you do it together. 💜
Do you prefer exercising on your own or with other people?
And if you’ve been thinking about trying an EmPower group session, drop me a DM. I’d love to tell you a bit more and help you decide if it’s for you.

One of the best things about being a personal trainer is seeing the progress that happens quietly, week after week.
The better form. The extra confidence. The fact that something that once felt difficult now feels a little more manageable.
Sometimes my clients don’t even notice it. But I do. 💜
✦ A little client progress snapshot ✦
The improvements in form
Showing up consistently
Feeling stronger
Trusting your body a little more
These are the things that make me smile.
Because progress isn’t just about lifting heavier weights or changing how your body looks.
It’s about building strength, learning what you’re capable of and recognising your own little wins.
And sometimes, it’s simply turning up and giving it a go.
✦ No one way to make progress
✦ No timeline you have to follow
✦ No need to compare your journey to anyone else’s
Just your own progress, one session at a time.
That’s what I love about EmPower. Helping people find what works for them, with options, encouragement and a little bit of fun along the way. 💜
What’s a little win you’ve noticed recently? It doesn’t have to be fitness-related. I’d love to hear it. 👇
