I give 100% of myself everyday to my clients. One of my favorite thinks about my profession is socializing with my clients while making them feel good about themselves with a fun and fabulous new "do" !
Why are you STILL backcombing? Do your clients enjoy the pain? š
Both techniques push away the same shorter hairsāone uses a comb, the other uses air.
AirTouch gets closer to the scalp, lasts longer and avoids brushing out wet, teased hair.
The easiest tool isnāt always the smartest tool. ā ļø
I donāt colour hair for today. I colour it for the next appointment too. š¤
Would you trust this comb on a client youāll be maintaining for years? šš„
Poor foil hygiene?
How Not to Place Foils in Airtouchāšš»
If:
* Sections that spread wider down the strand.
* Hair or product left on the foil edges.
* Uneven tension throughout the section.
* Overloaded product causing bleeding.
* Messy, inconsistent foil placement.
Then:
⢠Donāt clump the hair
⢠Keep the section centered inside the foil
⢠Maintain consistent saturation throughout the section
⢠Avoid excessive pressure when closing the foil
AirTouch Tip #7 āØ
One small change that can completely transform your blend:
Stop sectioning horizontally.
If youāre losing tension like this, your Airtouch will never be seamless. š„²
Keep the section flat.
Keep it elevated.
Keep consistent tension from roots to ends.
And donāt stop there.
That same tension must be maintained while placing your board and foil underneath the section.
Every small detail matters.
A seamless isnāt created by a root shadow.
Itās created by precision.

Airtouch obsession tip #5
If your foils keep opening during airtouch, thereās a reason for it. āØ
You donāt have to love Airtouch. š¤·š»āāļø
You donāt even have to offer it in your salon. š
But as a professional colourist, you should understand it, recognise it, and know how to work with hair that has been previously coloured using this technique.
The industry evolves constantly, and our clients come to us with all kinds of hair history. Staying educated isnāt about following trends, itās about creating predictable results, and working with confidence behind the chair. š«¶š»š¦¾
