Gustav Fouche
Situated in the heart of Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill lies London’s newest high-end salon Gustav Fouche.
Bringing together a curated team of experts and professionals within the industry, not to mention a first class bespoke service.
Do you dream of hair that looks glossy, luxurious and beautifully expensive?
At Gustav Fouche, we specialise in creating bespoke hair colour that feels modern, healthy and completely personal to you.
From luminous blondes and rich brunettes to vibrant coppers, radiant reds, balayage and beautifully blended foils, every colour by Wella is designed to complement your skin tone, lifestyle and natural hair.
Each stylist in the salon brings their own creativity, expertise and approach. Around 92% of my own clients are blonde, but I also love creating rich, dimensional brunettes that shine beautifully and move effortlessly.
Our goal is never simply to change your hair colour. We want to create hair that looks glossy, shiny, healthy and full of movement. Hair that flows beautifully, feels luxurious and gives you confidence every time you look in the mirror.

Why can balayage make your hair look brighter and blonder while using less blonde?
Debbie created this beautiful transformation by focusing on contrast, dimension and the client’s natural hair colour.
One of the biggest benefits of balayage is that it allows the natural colour to remain visible. This creates depth around the lighter pieces, helping the blonde look brighter, fresher and more luxurious.
Old highlights can sometimes begin to look flat because there is not enough contrast between the blonde and the natural hair. Lowlights may also fade warmer over time, which can leave the colour looking dull or orange.
By introducing the client’s natural colour back into the hair using a reverse balayage technique, Debbie was able to break up the solid blonde and make every lighter piece pop.
Balayage also grows out beautifully because there is no harsh line at the roots. This means softer regrowth, lower maintenance and a more natural result between appointments.
Would you have guessed that sometimes using less blonde can actually make you look blonder?

Have you been searching for how to add volume to fine hair, why your hair always falls flat, or how to make your hairstyle last all day?
I recently read an article in The Sun where celebrity hairstylist Christopher Scheer shared his thoughts on creating volume, and one point really stood out to me. Great hair is never about luck. It is about understanding the individual.
I could not agree more.
Every client who sits in my chair has different hair density, texture, growth patterns, lifestyle and expectations. The secret to beautiful, long lasting volume is not simply reaching for a volumising product. It is understanding exactly what your hair needs and then knowing which haircut, colour, styling techniques and products will deliver the best possible result.
That level of knowledge only comes with years of experience. Experience of listening. Experience of observing. Experience of understanding how hair behaves. And most importantly, experience of creating results that clients can recreate at home.
If you have fine hair that never seems to hold volume, or you feel your hair lacks body and movement, the answer is rarely more hairspray. The right haircut can completely transform how your hair sits. The right colour can create the illusion of fullness. The right products can give support without weighing the hair down.
Every great hairstyle starts with understanding the person wearing it.
If you have been wondering:
• How do I create volume in fine hair?
• Why does my hair go flat so quickly?
• How can I make my hair look thicker?
• What is the best haircut for fine hair?
• How do I make volume last all day?

What many people forget is that once September arrives, you may only have one or two appointments left before we head into the Christmas rush, which starts towards the end of November. Those appointments disappear incredibly quickly.
Do not leave it until the last minute and end up struggling to find a space when you need it most. Your hair deserves to look and feel fabulous for every holiday, every celebration and every photograph.

She arrived feeling nervous.
Like so many women with fine hair, especially during perimenopause and menopause, she had reached the point where her hair no longer felt like her. It felt flat, lifeless and difficult to style, and she had lost confidence in it.
That is why every transformation in my salon starts with the Perfect Consultation.
We talked about why she wears her hair the way she does, what she struggles with every day, and how her hair has changed over time. Understanding the person behind the hair is just as important as understanding the hair itself.
Together we decided to gently warm up her colour to create more softness, richness and the illusion of fuller, healthier hair. Combined with the right haircut, the transformation is incredible. She looks radiant, her hair has more movement, and most importantly, she left smiling.
If you are struggling with fine hair, thinning hair, or your hair has changed during perimenopause or menopause, do not assume you have to live with it. The right consultation, colour and haircut can completely transform the way your hair looks and feels.

Sometimes a haircut is about so much more than hair.
When my beautiful client arrived for her Perfect Consultation, she was understandably nervous. Like so many women with fine hair, especially during perimenopause and menopause, she had lost confidence in how her hair looked and behaved. It no longer felt like her.
Before we picked up a pair of scissors or mixed a colour, we spent time talking. We discussed why she styles her hair in a certain way, what she struggles with every morning, how her hair has changed over the years, and what she truly wanted to achieve.
Fine hair needs a completely different approach. It is not just about adding layers or making it blonder. It is about understanding movement, density, colour placement, face shape and creating the illusion of fuller, healthier hair.
Together we decided to warm up her colour, bringing softness, richness and life back into her hair. The result is a transformation that not only makes her hair look healthier and fuller, but also makes her eyes sparkle and her confidence shine through.
This is why I believe every great hair transformation starts with the Perfect Consultation. Listening is just as important as cutting or colouring.
If you are struggling with fine hair, thinning hair, menopause hair changes, perimenopause hair loss or feel like your hairstyle no longer works for you, know that there are solutions. Sometimes the smallest changes can make the biggest difference.
Watch the transformation and let me know if you can see the confidence returning.

When should you start planning your wedding hair?
Ideally, your bridal hair journey should begin around 12 months before your wedding day.
Why so early?
Beautiful wedding hair starts long before the final styling appointment. Giving yourself enough time allows us to improve the quality and condition of your hair, plan your colour, perfect your haircut and make sure your chosen bridal hairstyle works beautifully with your natural texture.
Healthy, well prepared hair is easier to style, holds its shape better and looks far more polished in your wedding photographs and videos.
We can still help brides with shorter timelines, even when the wedding is only three months away, but starting early gives us more time to create the very best result.
Stylist availability is another important factor. Experienced wedding hairdressers become booked very quickly, particularly during the busiest wedding months.

Do you think adding more blonde makes you look blonder?
It is one of the biggest myths I see in the salon.
Many women believe that the more blonde they add, the brighter and more youthful their hair will look. In reality, the opposite is often true.
Beautiful blonde hair needs contrast. Without a little depth, every strand blends into one colour, making the blonde appear flatter and less vibrant. By introducing subtle lowlights or a slightly deeper root, your blonde has something to reflect against. The result is brighter looking blonde, more movement, more dimension, and hair that looks naturally luxurious.
In today's transformation, my beautiful client already had a gorgeous blonde, but there was simply too much of it. By reintroducing texture and contrast, we created a softer, more youthful result that enhanced her skin tone, softened the appearance of the skin, and made her eyes stand out beautifully.
One of the biggest mistakes I see is focusing only on covering white hair. Modern hair colour is about creating depth, movement and dimension that works with your skin tone, eye colour and lifestyle. Not every woman needs to be blonde right to the root. Sometimes allowing a little more depth through the root area and keeping the brightness through the mid lengths and ends creates a far more expensive looking blonde.
Next time you visit your hairdresser, don't just ask for more blonde. Ask whether adding a little more contrast could make your blonde look brighter, healthier and more youthful.

There are moments in your career that remind you exactly why you do what you do, and this is one of them.
A huge thank you to Victoria Woodhall at Get the Gloss for this incredibly kind review. Victoria has become not only a valued client but also a dear friend, and I feel so grateful to have met her.
When Victoria first came to see me a few years ago, her hair was dry, thinning and lacking the health and movement it has today. Together, we created a long term plan, focusing on improving both her scalp and hair health rather than looking for a quick fix.
Through regular hair and scalp treatments to improve smoothness and manageability, softer colour, and our signature 3D Dry Cut, we have transformed her hair into something that not only looks beautiful when she leaves the salon but continues to look fantastic when she styles it herself at home.
One of my favourite moments every week is seeing Victoria at Friday yoga and watching how beautifully her hair moves. That, for me, is the true measure of success. Hair should make you feel confident every single day, not just for the first 24 hours after a salon visit.
Receiving these words from Victoria meant the world to me:
"When your hair is a source of strife, as my thinning hair is, a visit to the hairdresser has to be a can do, no problem, you're gorgeous experience. That's exactly what a cut with Gustav Fouché is like. A sheer tonic with trichologist trained knowledge thrown in."
Thank you, Victoria, for your friendship, your trust, and your incredibly generous words. Your journey has inspired me to keep learning, keep improving, and keep helping more people feel confident in their hair.
If your hair has changed, become thinner, drier, or simply no longer feels like you, know that there is always a place to start. Beautiful hair begins with understanding it.

Have you been searching for Hair Botox in London but keep finding keratin treatments instead?
At Gustav Fouche, we do things differently. We are proud to be the only salon in London offering a true collagen based Hair Botox treatment rather than a keratin treatment.
Why does that matter?
Keratin treatments are designed to alter the structure of the hair and can reduce or relax your natural curl pattern.
Our collagen Hair Botox works in a completely different way.
Collagen bonds with the hair's natural cuticle, helping to improve manageability, reduce styling time, smooth the hair, increase softness, and leave it looking healthier and fuller without changing your natural texture.
If you have curly hair, your curls will still be curly.
What disappears is the frizz.
But what is frizz?
Frizz happens when the hair cuticle is open and the hair is constantly losing moisture. Because of osmosis, the hair is always trying to balance the moisture inside the hair with the moisture in the surrounding air. When the cuticle stays open, the hair becomes rough, dry, and unpredictable.
Our collagen Hair Botox penetrates and coats the hair shaft, helping to hydrate the hair and smooth the cuticle. The result is hair that feels healthier, shinier, easier to manage, and much less affected by humidity, all while keeping the movement and texture that makes your hair unique.
If you love your curls but hate the frizz, or if you want smoother, healthier hair without permanently changing it, this treatment could be exactly what you've been looking for.
Book your consultation today by calling 02072291818 and discover why collagen Hair Botox is changing the way London thinks about smoother, healthier hair.
