There are definitely worse ways to spend a Thursday afternoon. ☀️

Even though it was boiling hot, , the event hosted by Olivia Marocco | The collective for female founders and Sarah Jepson , was anything but ordinary.

It was the perfect mix of networking, inspiration and a little luxury. We heard from a panel of speakers covering leadership, self-belief, affirmations, style, public speaking and business growth, before enjoying great food, drinks, music and even a pool where we could cool off (or at least dip our feet!).

The cherry on top 🍒?

After debating my outfit because of the heat, I decided to stick with my original choice: this royal blue dress. And I’m so glad I did.

It received so many compliments, but more importantly, I felt good. Even in flat shoes. Even while melting in the heat.

Here’s the interesting bit: I didn’t buy anything new.

This dress has been in my wardrobe for years. I’ve only worn it a handful of times simply because I hadn’t had the right occasion.

It’s a reminder that making an impression isn’t about chasing trends or constantly buying new clothes. It’s about wearing colours, shapes and styles that truly suit you—and the confidence that naturally comes with that.

A couple of weeks ago, I was due to deliver a style talk at an event in Swanley.

But fate had other plans.

Just eight miles from home, I got stuck on the M25 because of a serious accident. After 2.5 hours, it became clear I wasn’t going to make it.

I called Ali in tears. I’d prepared for weeks, so turning back was incredibly disappointing.

Instead of cancelling, I suggested we move the workshop online.

Yesterday, I finally delivered it.

At the end, Ali asked everyone to describe how they felt in one word:

✨ Energised

Then these messages landed in my inbox:
