One of the most controversial things I say in clinic is that many people are over-treating their skin and under-supporting it.

We live in a culture that rewards intervention.
More products.
More procedures.
More stimulation.

But skin biology doesn't necessarily reward more.
It rewards a smart approach.

I've seen patients spend thousands on treatments while neglecting the fundamentals that have the greatest impact on collagen preservation:
• Daily SPF
• Sleep
• Protein intake
• Recovery
• Inflammation management

A treatment can support collagen.
But it cannot out-perform daily collagen withdrawals.

I believe the future of aesthetic medicine is not about doing more.
It's about doing what matters, at the right time, for your skin. And that might be different to what your friend is having done right now.

Do you agree or disagree? I'd genuinely love to hear your perspective.

Preventative health is becoming more accessible, and I’m a huge advocate for helping people understand their health before problems develop.

The Neko Health Scan is one of the most interesting new options available, but it’s important to know both what it can and can’t do.

Would I recommend it?

For many healthy adults looking for a comprehensive baseline assessment, yes. Just remember that it’s designed to complement—not replace—traditional medical care.

Have you had a Neko scan? I’d love to hear about your experience below.

Everything I teach about skin can ultimately be distilled into five core principles.

Protect.
Stimulate.
Preserve.
Support.
Repeat.

These principles underpin every treatment plan I create.
Every skincare recommendation I make.
And every conversation I have about healthy skin ageing.

Because great skin is not about perfection.
It’s about cumulative decisions.

Made consistently.
Repeated intelligently.
Over time.

When patients come to see me, they often arrive focused on a particular concern.

A wrinkle.
Pigmentation.
Skin laxity.

But my role is to look beyond the symptom.
To think about the long-term health of the skin.

Before recommending any treatment, I ask:
Will this support great skin five years from now?

Because I think it’s all about having a long term perspective and that changes treatment planning.

Would your current skincare and treatment choices pass the five-year test?

The language of beauty is changing.

Everyone is becoming more educated.
More informed.
More interested in healthy skin collagen rather than just quick fixes.

And that shift is incredibly exciting. Because I believe the future of aesthetic medicine is not about chasing youth.

It’s about preserving your skin collagen.
Supporting biology.
Protecting structure.
And helping skin function optimally for as long as possible.

That is regeneration. And I believe it will define the next decade of aesthetics. The future is regenerative.

One of the most difficult concepts in modern aesthetics is restraint.

The industry often celebrates more intervention.
But biology values recovery.

Every treatment creates a biological response.
The question is whether the skin has enough time to respond and heal effectively afterwards.

This is why my treatment plans are designed around pacing. Not pressure.

Because healthy collagen requires both stimulation and recovery.
And one without the other creates imbalance.
Recovery is part of the treatment plan.

When evaluating a treatment, I ask one simple question:
Will this help support healthy skin five years from now?

The future of aesthetic medicine is moving away from correction and toward regeneration.

Toward treatments that support:
• Collagen production
• Recovery
• Barrier integrity
• Skin quality

My philosophy has always been to work with biology rather than against it. Because great skin is not created in a single appointment.

It’s created through cumulative decisions over years.

Choose treatments that will support your future skin.

Menopause can be a strange time.

Many women come and see me in clinic believing they have suddenly started to see the signs of their skin ageing. But what they are often experiencing is a profound biological shift.

Oestrogen influences:
• Collagen production
• Barrier function
• Hydration
• Repair
• Elasticity

As oestrogen levels decline, the skin’s behaviour changes. This is precisely why a collagen based approach becomes so valuable.

Rather than chasing quick fixes, I encourage women to focus on preserving their skin structure. Because great skin after menopause is absolutely achievable. It just requires a different strategy.

Save this if you’re approaching or navigating menopause.
