Handmade In Highgate

Heavily inspired by wabi sabi, minimalism, and the natural beauty of imperfection Catherine Liu works with stoneware and porcelain clay. Catherine will be bringing tableware and Asian driven pieces to Highgate Lit Sci on 20 - 22 November, we are looking forward to matcha, ramen bowls and sake sets. We have 2 winter fairs this November: 20 – 22 & 27 – 29, the brilliant maker/baker and award -winning artisan chocolate maker The Two Shuks will be at both. Particularly famous and followed for her delicious Christmas goodies….we say this every year, stocks are limited and we generally see Shuk sell out.

Penny Akester works mainly in silver but experiments with stone, clay and textiles. All pieces are one offs and handmade in London. Textile artist Naila Ahmad prints every design using vintage wooden blocks from Pakistan from her studio in Leyton, East London. Blending South Asian heritage with contemporary British design. Naila Ahmad | Block print artist | textile designer | est 2016 will be bringing homeware and accessories  to hlsi on 20 – 22 November.

Known for her ‘raw and smooth’ contrast, the ceramic hand thrown work of Mada Alicja Pucilowska combines smooth, tactile glazes with raw unglazed surfaces. Mada Alicja will be bringing functional tableware as well as decorative objects to Highgate Lit Sci on 20 – 22 November.

Hayley Blitz of ‘Dog and Swan’ assembles mixed media art that combines handmade backgrounds, found objects and characters to create minature worlds, some are deep framed wall art some are sculptures all are contemporary, witty, charming and completely unique. Great to have you and your ‘happy art’ back Dog&Swan .

These beautiful things are the work of Verka Ceramics . Working from her studio in West London Verka creates functional pieces mostly on the potters wheel using a palette of glazes. Looking forward to meeting you 20 - 22 November Verka.



Welcome to Highgate Lit Sci Maureen Hung, the brains and talent behind the eco jewellery brand W;nk. Jewellery and wearable objects are created from discarded materials, in her words ‘turning recycled plastics into wearable pseudo poetry, the material is not pretending – it is becoming’.
