In 2003 Natasha began working with Pin Up photographer Tony Rusecki. She then went on to run her own regular Vintage Hair & Makeup workshops at 'What Katy Did' in Portabello. In 2008 she decided to set up her own business so her partner Jason Smith came up with the name Lipstick and Curls. She then approach a friend to join her which she did. Jason developed the most amazing website and the brand
was born and developed with lots of love and attention. In Jan 2011 Natasha decided she wanted to go it alone and split the business fairly. In her business partners words..."the only fair thing is for no one to have the name"... So both parties agreed to work on their own new projects with new names. However, instead of honoring this her ex partner went on to create another company using the same name. She registered Lipstick and Curls as a Ltd company behind Natasha's back and announced on facebook that Natasha had left the company and was moving to Scotland. They had verbally agreed to both go solo using new company names. Instead she took the name, against Natasha's wishes, and continued to trade using the reputation that they had built up for 4 years. Natasha was not moving to Scotland, she was continuing to trade in London. She was emailed and told to cease trading or legal action would be taken against her. Seeking legal advise Natasha discovered that despite the new LTD company being registered against her will she infact still had claim to her original company. Natasha always kept her word after the split and took down her original website (after a day or so of a techical hitch). However after a couple of months and loss of work her solicitor advised that she put her website back up. She was told she had every right to continue trading, depsite the new name being created. Happily she is now working solo to continue to provide an excellent standard of Vintage Hair and Makeup. She is continuing the excellent work of Lipstick and Curls and retains the original website and a newly set up page as a memory of the brand she had created. But true to her word she began again and while her business partner took on the majority of the business she has built a new identity and brand on her own merit. All the pictures on this facebook are quite clearly stated as Natasha's hair, makeup or both. Natasha now wishes to be known for her new brand - "Pretty Me Vintage" and Natasha's Lipstick and Curls is a way of her orginal clients to find her as she is proud of the work she did to create the company.
