Can Exosomes Regrow Hair in Completely Bald Areas?

I’m going to say something slightly unusual for a clinic that offers exosome hair restoration.
Exosomes are not suitable for everyone.

There’s a lot of excitement around regenerative hair treatments, and early research into exosome-based approaches is encouraging. But that is very different from saying they can magically recreate hair follicles that are no longer viable.

If an area has been completely smooth and bald for a long time, that is a very different biological starting point from an area where we can still see finer, miniaturised hairs.
Where follicular activity remains, there may be more potential to support the environment around those follicles. But we need to assess that first.

I would much rather tell somebody that a treatment isn’t appropriate than sell them a course based on hope.

Hair loss makes people vulnerable enough without unrealistic promises.

If your hair is thinning and you’re wondering whether exosome hair restoration could be suitable, DM “HAIR” and we can arrange an assessment.

Your skin feels tight... so it must be dry. Right? Not necessarily.

One of the most common things we see in clinic is dehydrated skin being mistaken for dry skin. And if you’re treating the wrong problem, even a bathroom shelf full of expensive skincare may not make much difference.

Here’s the distinction:
💧 Dry skin lacks oil.
💧 Dehydrated skin lacks water.

Which means, surprisingly, your skin can be oily AND dehydrated at the same time.
You might notice tightness after cleansing, dullness, rough texture or fine dehydration lines, while still becoming shiny or experiencing breakouts later in the day.

And during autumn? It can become much more noticeable. Lower humidity, central heating, summer UV exposure and overusing acids or retinol can all leave the skin barrier struggling to hold onto moisture.

The answer isn’t always another exfoliator. Sometimes your skin is asking for exactly the opposite.

Swipe through and we’ll help you understand what your skin may actually need.

📩 If your skin suddenly feels dry, tight or sensitive and you’re not sure why, DM our team to arrange your no-obligation skin consultation at Skin Perfection London.

How much hair loss is actually normal? Can stress make your hair fall out months later? And if a follicle has stopped producing visible hair… can it ever grow again?

Hair loss creates an enormous amount of anxiety, partly because the internet gives you a hundred different answers before breakfast.

So we asked Ayse six of the questions patients regularly bring into our hair consultations.

Some have reassuring answers. Others are exactly why we believe hair loss should be assessed rather than guessed at.

Because “hair loss” isn’t one diagnosis. Excessive shedding, gradual miniaturisation, patchy loss and a widening parting can all tell us different things.

And occasionally, what somebody needs isn’t a hair restoration treatment at all. It’s further medical investigation.

Watch Ayse’s rapid answers, save this for later, and if there’s a hair question you want us to cover next, leave it below.

If you’re concerned about your own density, DM “HAIR”.

Your hair isn’t falling out… but something has changed

Nobody else may have noticed yet. But you have. Your ponytail feels smaller. Your parting seems a little wider. Under bright bathroom or office lights, you’re suddenly seeing more scalp than you remember.

And yet there aren’t handfuls of hair in the shower.

This is why hair loss can be so confusing. It doesn’t always begin with dramatic shedding.

Sometimes the individual hairs gradually become finer, shorter and less substantial. This process is called hair miniaturisation, and over time it can make your overall density look noticeably different.

The important part is finding out why it’s happening.

Pattern hair loss is one possibility, but nutritional factors, hormones, illness, medication and scalp conditions can also contribute to changes in density.
So we don’t start with a treatment simply because your hair looks thinner. We start with your hair and scalp.

If you’ve noticed a gradual change and keep wondering whether you’re imagining it, DM us “HAIR” to arrange a hair restoration consultation.

Does Laser Hair Removal Work If You Have PCOS?

If you have PCOS and someone has promised that six laser sessions will permanently remove every facial hair, there’s something important you need to know.

Laser can treat the hair. It cannot treat the hormonal condition encouraging that hair to grow.

That doesn’t mean laser hair removal can’t be incredibly helpful for women with PCOS. Suitable dark, coarse hairs can respond very well, and reducing the constant shaving, plucking, irritation and ingrown hairs can make an enormous practical difference.

But PCOS can continue stimulating hair growth over time. That means maintenance may form part of your long-term plan.

And there’s another side to this that I’m quite careful about in clinic. Fine, soft facial hair is not automatically a good laser target. In some circumstances, inappropriate treatment of fine facial hair can actually stimulate increased growth.

Sometimes the most professional thing we can tell a patient is: “I wouldn’t laser this.”

If PCOS-related facial hair is affecting your confidence or simply exhausting you, we can assess the hair properly and explain what laser can, and cannot, realistically do.
DM “PCOS” to speak to our team.

POV: You start laser in October so next summer looks very different

If you want to be shaving less next summer, October is actually a very sensible time to start thinking about laser hair removal.

Not because laser somehow works better when it’s cold. It doesn’t. The reason is much simpler: laser works with your hair growth cycles, and those cycles take time.

Only hairs in the right stage of growth can be effectively targeted at each appointment. So a proper course is a process, not something we can squeeze into the few weeks before your summer holiday.

Starting in autumn gives us time to work through those cycles gradually. It also tends to be easier to manage sun exposure and tanning, which matters when we’re treating the skin safely.

I often tell patients: don’t plan laser around the week you want smooth skin. Work backwards from when you want to be shaving less.

The work you do this autumn is for the freedom you want next summer.

If you live or work around Oxford Circus, Marylebone or Central London and you’ve been thinking about starting laser, DM us “LASER” and our team can talk you through your next step.

“After years of searching for the right treatment…”

Living with persistent facial redness, broken capillaries and pigmentation can be incredibly frustrating, especially when you’ve already tried different treatments without seeing the results you hoped for.

That’s why we believe every journey starts with listening.

After a thorough consultation, we recommended a personalised course of Photo Facial Rejuvenation, combining advanced IPL technology with our Lite Peel to target redness, visible capillaries, pigmentation and overall skin health.

The best part? These are Amy’s results after just 3 of her 6 recommended sessions.

Her redness has already reduced, many of the visible capillaries have faded, and she’s feeling excited about the progress still to come.

We’re also incredibly grateful that after seeing the improvement in her skin, Amy chose to trust us with her laser hair removal journey too, after a previous course elsewhere hadn’t given her the results she was hoping for.

Thank you, Amy, for sharing your experience and allowing us to be part of your skin journey.

If you’ve been told to “just live with” redness, broken capillaries or pigmentation, or you’ve tried treatments elsewhere without success, don’t lose hope. Sometimes it’s not about trying more treatments, it’s about finding the right treatment plan for your skin.

Send us a DM to arrange your no-obligation consultation, and our experienced team will create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your concerns.
