Even after four babies, every bedtime looks a little different.

This night she took over an hour to settle thanks to the heat, then gave me a little false start before her first proper feed of the morning. We just take every night as it comes 🤍

A realistic night with my 4 month old… ☀️ Heatwave edition.

The heat has definitely changed our bedtime routine. Maybe positivity as we’ve been having some great nights of sleep 🤞🏼 Tonight meant a cool bath, keeping an eye on the room temperature, lightweight sleepwear and hoping we all managed a decent night’s sleep.

I check the rooms temperature on our camera and dress her accordingly to that.

Every baby is different, but this is what worked for us last night.

One minute she fit in the palm of my hand… and now she’s four months old.

I wish I could bottle up every stage forever, but watching her grow has been the biggest privilege. 🥹

There’s something so lovely about the evenings when everyone is finally settled. 🤍

This is a realistic night with Honey and, completely by coincidence, it also happened to be one of the first night she slept all the way through!! Every night is different with babies, so we definitely weren’t expecting it!

With the warmer weather we’ve been using the Butterfly Cardi from .uk which gives Honey that snug, arms-up feeling she loves while still allowing us to keep her cool in just a nappy! Gamer changer if your baby loves the arm’s up position, especially in these heatwaves. Sonny is also tucked up in his ergoPouch sleeping bag, and we’ve been using their Drift Away white noise machine and the Blobby Bedtime lamp as part of our bedtime routine too.

As always, dress your baby according to the room temperature and follow safe sleep guidance.

Just another evening in our house.

A toddler to get to bed.
A baby who still wakes through the night.
Trying to squeeze in five minutes of self-care.
Sharing the night shifts.
Then somehow waking up and doing it all over again.

It’s busy, sometimes exhausting, but I know these little moments won’t last forever.
