Things you DON'T need to worry about before your wax.

Do I need to trim?
Should I shave first?
Is my hair too long?
Is it too thick?
Will you think I'm weird? 😂

Honestly? No.

I've been waxing for 25 years and I've seen pretty much everything. You don't need to arrive looking “wax ready”. As long as the hair is roughly grain-of-rice length, I can work with it.

So please don't panic, shave or over-exfoliate beforehand because you're worried about what I'll think.

Let me worry about the hair. That's my job. 💜

A little reminder about the person behind Amity Waxing…

There’s no behind-the-scenes team. No receptionist, admin department or IT support. Just me - Lisa. 😂

I’m the one answering your messages, managing the bookings, ordering stock, doing the accounts, cleaning the treatment room, creating the social media… and, of course, doing the waxing.

Which also means that sometimes I might not reply straight away. I could be with a client, cleaning up, doing the boring admin stuff, or finally sitting down with a cup of tea!

And one thing I’ve decided is important for me (because apparently I need to remind myself too!) is having some time away from work.

So I won’t be answering messages between 7pm and 7am. I'll pick up anything that comes in overnight during my working day.

Amity is a small, independent business, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who books, recommends, shares, likes, or simply follows along.

Behind the waxing, there’s just one person. Me. Lisa. 💜

Good waxing starts before you even get through the door - but don’t overthink it. 😉

Follow my quick guide below:

1) Let it grow - around the length of a grain of rice is ideal.
2) Put the razor down - shaving between waxes can interfere with your waxing cycle.
3) Gently exfoliate in the days before. No aggressive scrubbing needed!
4) Skip the oils & heavy creams before your appointment - clean, dry skin is best.
5) Wear something loose afterwards, especially after an intimate wax.

First time? Don’t panic. I’ll explain everything, talk you through it and make sure you’re comfortable.

And the most important bit…you don't need to know what you're doing.
You just need to turn up, and I'll take care of the rest. 💜
