This is Kiena Dawes, a 23-year-old who took her own life after enduring a horrific two-year campaign of domestic abuse. 💔

Kiena Dawes was just 23 when she died on a railway line in Lancashire in July 2022.

She had endured a two-year relationship with Ryan Wellings, who subjected her to a prolonged campaign of physical, verbal and financial abuse.

Before her body was found, the young woman wrote a devastating note stating that she was "murdered" and that Wellings had "killed" her. ❗

She wrote that he had completely ruined every bit of strength she had left and taken her future away.

Yet when Wellings faced Preston Crown Court, he was acquitted of manslaughter.

Now, Kiena's grieving mum Angela is demanding a total change in the law. 🚨

She is heavily backing a campaign for "Kiena's Law" to create a standalone criminal offence of domestic abuse-related su***de.

Angela says the criminal justice system currently allows too much victim blaming and ignores how prolonged coercive control pushes victims to take their own lives.

"My girl didn't want to die. My girl wanted to live. But she lived in fear," she said. 😞

The official petition for the new law has now gathered almost 19,000 signatures.
