Fat freezing, also known as cryolipolysis, works by targeting and destroying fat cells in specific areas of the body that simply don’t respond to lifestyle changes. The reason those pockets of fat are so resistant is that they’re largely determined by genetics, not effort. If your skin has been holding onto the evidence of last summer, or years of sun exposure that’s gradually accumulated over time, IPL is one of the most effective ways to address it.
IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, works by delivering precise wavelengths of light energy into the skin that are absorbed specifically by pigmented cells. That energy breaks down the melanin clusters that form sun spots, age spots, and uneven discolouration, bringing them to the surface where they naturally shed over the days following treatment. What’s left underneath is clearer, more even, and noticeably brighter skin.
Beyond pigmentation, IPL also targets redness, visible vessels, and the general dullness that builds up over time, which is why the overall improvement in skin tone and clarity after a course of treatments can be so significant.
A few things worth knowing:
